I've always wanted to try one of these ride reports. Here's the new KLR, on her maiden voyage. (Hope this works)

    Godson Lake is finally looking like spring;

A bit of curvy highway to get to the good stuff,

There's thousands of miles of these old logging roads where I live.

    It's dualsport heaven...

But, even I know when to quit. It's when the road ends like this:

Hey Ron, where about's are you in North Western Ontario?

I'm originally from Sault Ste. Marie, and getting a little homesick, especially around this time of year. The riding is great around my place. Post some more pics if you've got them to make me more homesick.

I'll post some more later...I'm in Dryden Ontario, but the country is quite a bit like Sault Ste Marie.

from the first ride of the year.

My friend Steve and I agreed to meet halfway between here and Thunder Bay.
    It about 320 km away.
This is where we met up.

We got to this little store, and went looking for coffee, all these native kids ran up when we pulled in:

The bike shot, I'm riding the FJ1100 this time around...

Steve warming up, it was a bit nippy that day.

    Thanks Ron,

In all honesty I'm not homesick for the snow. I'm homesick for the feeling you get entering into spring after a long winter. Everything is so fresh and everyone's so happy because it's getting warm again. The bikes come out and get washed right in the driveway. It's a beautiful thing. Here in Costa Rica it's just nice all the time so it gets a bit boring. Rainy season is coming soon though so that's kind of like winter. Nobody wants to be outside during rainy season.

I'm familiar with the area around Dryden. Friends at school in Thunderbay etc. Beautiful area. The ride from SSM to Dryded is still one of my favorites in the world. Along the Northern coast of Lake Superior is just perfect. I'd still be there except there are not nearly enough curves in the roads for me and the speed enforcement is a bit too strict. Here not.

    ZZR,

    Thanks for the report! :thumb

BTW, what kind of filter are you running your pictures through, or is that a result of the old Sony Mavica's? :scratch

Nice to see you back Bart! I really enjoyed the north of Superior ride report
    you did a while back.

I'm not running any filter, I just use a cheap little 40 buck camera from Wal-Mart, and Photo Resizer, it keeps the picture sizes small, so people with dial-up
    don't lose their mind.

Barracuda, I agree with you, the ride from the Sault through to Thunder Bay, then from there, to Atikokan, then on the 622 to Ignace is one of my favourite
    rides ever.
