This RR is troubling. . . . Right off the start I'm a bit pissed about it. It was 2300 and I was aiming for bed. Couldn't stop reading the damn thing, so around 0200 I finish it and kill the lights. . . couldn't fall asleep right away either! The next day was pure shit. . . tired as hell. The boss yelled at me for dragging ass all day.

So, the way I see it, you all owe me an entire day and an apology note to the boss. . . . Once you all square up I won't be so pissy.
OR, you could take another trip and write another RR! Yeah, I think I'd be good with that.

I logged onto ADVRIDER after a couple years away (just life happening....!) to see if MJ and the gang had any more RRs like this epic one, and am so disappointed to see nothing new. Epic, epic, epic ride reports like this....are from a talent and attitude and circumstance that very seldom happens, and the rest of us miss this stuff. Coolest bunch of riders ever...and from my own home town region (Port ELizabeth, Eastern Cape, South Africa) too. Simply amazing stuff. Thanks guys! Old Baldy.

One of the first RR that I read when I came to ADV. Years later I made a few half hearted attempt to find it again but couldn't so thanks to the recent activity it's come up at the top of the RRs again and I enjoyed reading it as much the second time as the first. Just epic.

Hi Michnus, do tell me when coming back again to Angola, it was more less on the same time I've read your RR when I've come to live to Angola, and Namibe/ mouth of Cunene river it's on my bucket list, on a more friendly way :jack no 40 liters of fuel on the ktm!!
Great RR, no doubts about it, congrats to your and remaining team,

The Top Gear TV show on Amazon Prime have just followed a similar route for theIr Christmas special. With a budget of literally millions of pounds, a back up crew of hundreds, and endless post production opportunities , I can honestly say that reading your RR is an infinitely better experience than watching their contrived, lying crap. I even got my 14 year old son reading something, rather than watching TV.
Such a great adventure and RR.

Ten years later and I finally got around to reading this! What the hell took me so long?
Fortunately, like all truly great adventures, this one is timeless and will live forever as a testament to moxie, fortitude and courage. Perhaps all five motorcycles have seen the graveyard, but I hope you five men are flourishing and still adventuring, wherever you are.
Many thanks for a fantastic read.
Bumping to top for many more to read!
