pic's pic's come on its killing me
Took a test ride and it works really well. Got an annoying air pocket somewhere though.
In sharp (really sharp) right corners when I lean the bike a lot, it stalls on me... Makes it kinda interesting....
A bit boring since I don´t have the fairing, skidplate or navtower yet, but this is the way it looks atm.
aggred. lets order this, tks
I thought the 690 parts were out of production(?). The 450 Rally #s are different, it seems.
Well, Tank # are different, but the rest is as LukasM wrote. Don´t know what´s different between 450 and 690RR tanks.
Tanks # (450 RR)
7630701300028A FUEL TANK CPL. FRONT L/S
7630711300028A FUEL TANK CPL. FRONT R/S
There is no difference between the tanks from the 690 & 450. The part numbers changed due to the 450 tanks coming painted from the factory where as the 690 tanks are bare plastic.
Yep. I cross-referenced the numbers from one of the guys here sources and it checked out as beaney says. Looking at adapting a 2012 to this configuration. But has the platform changed much since 2010 other than relocating a few things (disregarding engine and suspension specifics)?
Ok boys n` girls, what´s happened since last time.
Well, have not got the new fuelsystem to work as planned, so got back to original for time being
Good news is I got the fairing and nav tower, so let the build (re)begin!
Still missing skidplate and other bits from RR UK
Nice package from The Swedish Army!
Making plates to fit between framebracket and tower
You can also see my "Hi-tech" tools in the pic
Getting the angles and meassurements right
Finally starting to look like a bike again, ey?
Next, lights and roadbook.
Looking Good! Unique graphics, too.
WOW!!!! it's looking GOOD!!
Nice build and it looks soooo sooo sweet, I wont show any of your pics to my 690 or she might get jealous.
Try mounting the LTR pump vertically. I think you'll find it works better.
Funny, had that thought today when I was down the garage. Will check on where it would fit tonight.
And thanks for the tip!
Graphics will go `cause that "belongs" to Thomas Berglund.
Think I will go with a black and white theme....
Just stumbled upon this thread.
Why, oh why, did you have to plant these ideas in my already overloaded mind?!
When your done, take it for a spin down to GBG so I can have a go. OK?
Can't wait to see the finished result!
Evil Invader, I envy your access to these rare parts. Do you know if engine components can be had for the Rally bikes still. Or would it be futile because the frame and transmission is completely different than standard?
great thread, wish i had your budget and ability when I adventurized my 690
Can´t wait me neither...
Don´t really know what components you are refering to, but anything should be possible to order from your local dealer as long as you have the part.no.
Budget? Hell, it´s just work, order parts, pay bills, repeat...
And thanks for the kind words. Lotsa work lately, so build has come to a stand still, but soon....
I´ll be back
Great looking bike! I will be in Sweden and Norway this September. I'd love to check it out in person.
