Stainless cycle that yellow EC is/was super clean. I have an 07 that seems very similar to yours, do you like the ohlins on your old bike better than the rear shock of your 07?

Thats because you're in the Vintage forum. Gas Gas is a modern brand. (about 1989 I think).

the ohlins was better, but i never rode it stock, it was revlaved right away. i did put a bladder in the 07 shock, i was getting a little fluid leaking into the reservoir. i'd like to revalve the 07, but there's very little data on this shock to begin with - mine has the stepped shaft, which is very short run.. i would have put the ohlins on the 07, but they're significantly different lengths.. overall the 07 is worlds above the 00, and the 99 i had. i should get a year or 2 more outta the 07 then move to a newer model.. i have the messico pipe from my 99 on the 07. awesome pipe.

it's really linear - nice low end, nice mid, decent top - but not a ton of overrev. they are fragile though, and they stopped using this design in 99 or so i believe..

I bought an uber clean/low hour 2001 EC300 about a year ago to use as my singletrack/rock monster and have loved it thus far. The suspension may not be as nice as my newer Honda's and KTM but the rest of the bike is IMO on par with any modern 2T for my use.

Here is a crappy cell phone pic loaded down with full camp gear for my Dusy-Ershim trail ride last year:

If it makes you feel any better, I keep breaking/loosing kickstand springs so mine has been ziptied and bailing wired up for my last two rides:lol3 I miss my kickstand:cry
