I post on the "official" Sacramento area dual sport rides thread: http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=756899

And on GCDSR. Sometimes I'll post a note on Sacramento Crotch Rockets in their dirt section too.

Hey everyone. I'm also in the "norcal" area. I live up near Georgetown but commute to Folsom everyday. I'm always up for a ride within a hundred mile radius. I have some pretty cool trails in the Nevada forest that are KLR/Big bike friendly. I'm on a DRZ400s.

    Thx Scott,
Operative word in this thread was "dual sport". Sold my 450, and replaced it with a 690 intending to shoot for longer backcountry road/dirt road rides. "Big bike friendly" works for me. :) I work with and ride with DrKayak who posts many photos on that other Sac thread. I'm pretty much done with the whole hairy single track and destroy-my-bike-riding-over-impossible-bolders thing, now on the 690. I'll be on the lookout for your posts. Planning a ride with a group of 690s soon with Dr. Kayak and Danny K locals in Cameron Park. I'll let them know about your ride too, or vice versa.

    Charlie/Scott,

Looking at the site, Wheelie John over at GCDSR is planning a night ride on July 26th up to Georgetown for Pizza and back. It's probably more of a road ride up there, but sounds like fun anyhow just to meet up, get the bikes out.

If they're going from Georgetown to Foresthill, you can do it all on pavement or you can do quite a bit on dirt. I'm not a night person or I would consider it.

I think they are considering starting in Antelope>Auburn>Georgetown>Forest Hill to French Meadows and back, or something like this. Probably more road than not I'm guessing. There will be a lot of bikes and lights on this one so we'll be all on the lookout for deer for sure. I would not do this unless there were a lot of bikes making noise. We'll see how it goes.

This weekend I'm dealing with what I did last week (have to take the engine apart on my Honda). Next Saturday or the one after that I'll come up with something.
