i have a few short bits for DID 520 vx2 if that will help ya ?
Thanks Kev, but as far as I know not all 520 is the same.
I'll just take a tow rope instead.
Does anyone know if the Collie - Tallanalla road is open, or is it blocked by the mining areas?
But between the bloody mines and the fuck wit water corp l wouldn't be surprised if it's blocked somewhere. Looks to have lots of traffic on it.
What are you doing Sat? Well suss it out.
Trees rd looks good from the top of the dam heading south.
I will be leaving Rockingham at 12 noon Friday.
Camp 50km past Hyden 100m up the Holland track. I won't be there much before sunset.
Beautiful country, easy tracks, no sand*.
*changing conditions in the Goldfields area OFTEN present short sandy sections during dry conditions and times of cock gobbling 4WD activity.
We're planning on ducking up to Norseman on Friday arvo after work, camping at old Dundas town site.
Then West Saturday morning to breakaways on Hyden rd and back North-east to Cave Hill.
The Breakaways has been stuffed by the Sparks and Wildfires mob. Only the area down the back available to camp in now.
Still a nice place just have to get there early to get the one camp site. The mind boggles at the reasoning. Maybe they want to mine the area, it wouldn't surprise me.
I'll be there early, set up and go for an explore.
we camped at the breakaways at Easter, the camping is much better at the back. Plenty of firewood and camping amongst the trees for shelter.
Just to be clear - we're not camping at the breakaways. Just taking a detour to Cave Hill for a tourist loop. We'll be at Cave Hill Saturday and Sunday night.
Awesome. That sounds like a great plan.
I'll meet you at the Breakaways then.
They closed all the small camping spots along the rock face though. They were sheltered and private.
Unfortunately the rock faces were being destroyed and damaged , the other campspots are pretty good. Granted it was awesome to get in the little gullies with seats etc.
And if you got caught near the rock walls in rain, the campsite flooded.
Much better down the back as Bully said. Firewood closer too.
Do you guys mean right down the back as in across the flat ground for a few hundred meters?
yes Rod, come in the main track and turn to the left at the bottom of the hill, follow it along as it meanders through the flat area. Camping areas are in the patch of trees on the RHS
Its going to get a bit crowded out there, mate and I are heading out to do a loop around the back of Lake Cowan to Fraser range next week. Taking in Holland track, Cave Hill, Fraser Range and Peak Charles.
You're going to need a holiday after that.
We came into Peak Charles from the west and it was lots of deep sand.
Great ride though!
Love the variety this corner of Oz has.
Do you have a kmz or gpx route for that. Would be interested to compare too our routes.
This is the plan, be interesting to see how it compares by the end of next week.
Not a ride, but a brain pick.
As some of you know, the Husky blew a head gasket on the way home from the Desert Raid last weekend.
I need to get the head checked and if necessary, machined.
Anybody have any recommendations of a good machine shop in Perth, prefer southern suburbs?
I used Haymish (forgot the business name, in Carlisle) years ago. Dunno if he`s still doing jobs. Mario might know someone ??
