FYI many of the trails & roads south of that area no longer go through, thanks to the King fire. I spent hours last weekend trying to get from the Union Valley res side to the Hell Hole res side without success. The roads are washed out & covered with debris, and the trails simply don't exist, even though they are still on the MVUM. As far as I can determine, it's impossible to get across the Rubicon River canyon without going to Auburn...

Does anyone on the thread every ride the Leviathan mine area between Topaz & Markleeville?

Several great Single Tracks with not enough traffic to keep open, need help.

Spent all day today clearing one of them of downfall.

Just took a look at the tracks you have there. I would be willing to help clear some trails.

What a beautiful Saturday. 275 miles of mostly off-road riding to the Northwest. This is a solid 10 hour ride, so you need to start early as the days get shorter.

A few controlled burns going on, but nothing that had roads or trails closed.

It was a very long day, but from my recollection, everything was doable on a big bike. The only section that was a little sketchy for a big bike was...

This was about 2 miles of single track with a lot of whoops. Fun on the WR, I think it would have been fine on my 1190.

Not sure how you are getting your GPS Tracks but they don't have time tags which allows viewers to see how fast your were traveling which is a real clue to how hard any given section is.

The tracks come out of my Monterra and I clean up the wrong turns and dead ends in Google Earth. It seems GE strips the time data out when I export the track. Speed data would definitely be handy, but it could also be incriminating :hmmmmm. Then again, I'm so slow people would think most of my rides were single track :lol3.

I figured that might be it. Use MapSource or BaseCamp to preserve data and to edit. I have same problem when scouting, I cut and paste and don't get contiguous time stamps.

The only way time stamps could possibly be incriminating is if LEO takes unit (data) direct from you/vehicle as in an accident (the Corvette problem).

OF, where were you for my Trans Sierra ride? The guys that saw it said people were going up and around it when coming down Mountaineer but they said it was too soft to go up. Never mentioned going under.

I've been out of the country the last 2 months..just got back I would have loved to be there. It sounded pretty good. The last time I rode that area was probably June, and we just laid the bike on their sides, squatted down and feathered them in first to get them under. The water crossings that time of year were fairly deep as well.

Anyone else with weekdays off? (Tues-Thurs)

All my buddies have the weekends off and it's hard to motivate myself to go out alone all the time.
