There will be plenty of trails for you. You may end up getting a smaller bike once you get here. But I have seen guys with bigger bikes ride with us.

Are there any XT225's that hang with you guys? I moved here in Sept, and keep meaning to check in for rides, but buying a house and getting it up to standard has taken every weekend including the ones with snow in the air.

Yes, I was thinking of getting another bike. Keep the Dakar though - I have done quite a few long distance trips, have two planned for this summer. Up to Canada via Black Rock Canyon, and Central Oregon, head west along the Columbia River. Up the coast to the Olympic Penninnsula/Port Angels. Ferry Boat to Vancouver Island and head north. Take the northern most ferry to the Canada Mainland and make my way to Vancouver BC from there. Fly back to Hawaii for my month of work.

Then its back to Vancouver to get the bike - Ride across Canada in as much dirt as i can until I'm north of Montana - turn right and take the Continental divide rout down until I hit Arizona, turn right again and get back to Sparks via dirt in NV.

I ride solo, or, with other people on my trips. I have a great time!

Schulz rides a little sherpa with 14 inches of ground clearance. Mayne not that low but he usually leads the pack. Im on a drz 400 and im in the back. The point is it's all about the rider's ability. Come and ride. We never leave anyone behind.

I'm out this weekend. I ended up in TJ last night.

    But!!!

Next weekend is KOM. Anyone want to carpool? I plan on camping either in a tent or the back of the truck.

Finally recovered from my bout of pneumonia and decided to test my new big bore kit out. Didn't want to come up north in case the motor decided to eat something....a little ride around the valley.

Should be some snow on Mount Rose....

Hey..... Rob? Is it? And everyone. I only have two or three more weeks. Let's kill some miles. I drove home to TJ over the weekend. I wasn't sure when I'd get the chance next.

I have the whole week to get some packing done, put the new tank on the bike and make some roost. Let's dance.

Riding Sunday 02.02.14. Going to do another big Lyon/Douglas County loop. Leave from Stagecoach, and head toward Smith Valley, by way of Silver Springs, Weeks, Churchill Canyon, Mason Pass, etc.
Going to go through Desert Creek to Sweetwater, East Walker, back to Yerington(ish). More gas, then dirt all the way home.
Super Enduro/950 friendly if you don't mind a few peg deep water crossings. No ice or single track this ride. Probably 200 or so miles with 20 being pavement. At least 100 mile range on a tank. Might end up finishing in the dark if all goes well.
Leaving from my house at 10:00am. Plenty of parking. PM for address.

I had to patch up the crack I had on the bike so it'd stop spraying oil behind me, and while was at it I threw on the rest of my gear to street-legal the bike. I should be back at it this weekend if the weather looks alright. As always, I'm a Sunday rider, sorry all you Saturday guys.

So, potentially Sunday at estates. Hopefully someone joins me.

I have a clutch to repair, too much sand for the little sherpa and I am letting my shoulder heal up a little.

Dixie Valley should have had snow. Any report?

I'm hoping the next phone call with my director goes well, otherwise, I'm leaving town someday this week. I may be back for only a day or two at a later date..... Unless this phone call goes well. We're hoping work will start to happen here again.

I drove up to Sierraville Sunday and was surprised to not see a bit of snow.
What did you do to your shoulder?

First MRANN race is this weekend, February 15&16. I'm heading out Wednesday afternoon to camp until Sunday. I'm working the race with Trailblazers M/C.
Picking up my WR motor this afternoon if all is done. Piston kit, rod kit, main bearings, all five gears, two shift forks, three intake valves, and a cam chain and guide. Ouch. Midnight oil tonight. Planning on riding the 450 a lot here coming up. I'll check in here and keep you posted.
