    Hi moongirl!

I take my F650GS on some rough terrain (small rocks, easy river crossings, etc). I like my XT225 on that stuff better, though, since I can pick up the XT much more easily. :lol3

    Hi moongirl!

There are many talented women riders here. I'm not one of them, but I do like to take my big bike on dirt. Easy dirt. And through mud puddles. :lol3

I've heard several gals say that MotoGear in Colorado has a gal (I can't remember her name) that is great at helping gals with gear.

I'm bigger too and wear mostly guy's stuff so far. Grew up wearing all my brother's hand me downs, so guess I'm kinda used to it. :D

Mary. She's super helpful. I just got back from there a little while ago, after trying on every last boot in the place (got me some new Sidis!!!:D). She's patient and listens, and from the sound of it, she tells the gear reps what women want to buy. Now if only they'd listen!

I might add that her prices are very very competitive. Highly recommended :thumb

Depending on your riding skill and experience..your bigger bikes (BMW's GS series) can do some off road..rough trails not recommended tho! I have 49 yrs in the saddle, grew up on dirt bikes and I can tell you that there is no way I would take a 1150GS or a 1200GS on a rough trail..would be way too much work and not fun at all. I have a XR400 and it is much more nimble on rough trails than a GS and it still works me pretty good.

As for off road GS'n..dirt roads are fine but try and stay away from sand..you'll get a work out picking it up often!

    Depends what you consider fun....:smooch
    Watch Get-lost Oregon & you will see our 4 big pigs (3 KTM950's & 1 1200)
going through everything from sand, mud, single track, double track, river crossings & lots of rough stuff. I had a blast & never considered it a pain to have to pick up my bike. Maybe I just like torture more than the normal person....:scratch
Ride what you like & never be afraid to challenge yourself...just make sure you can pick up your bike when it does go down.:shog

Hi everyone! I haven't posted anything for several months now. I am a fairly new rider, and I bought a DR200 back in July. I only posted one picture of it since I was unfamiliar with posting photos. At the time, I was in California for work, but on the 30th of September, I loaded up the 200 on a trailer, and headed homeward to Minnesota and The One I Love. He met me at Mt. Rushmore on his BMW F800GS

We stayed there for a day and rode a bunch of logging roads up in the Black Hills. The weather was so beautiful. It was the beginning of October, and winter hadn't raised it's ugly head.

Now, I'm back in Minnesota. Since I've been home, The One I Love and I have gone for a ride almost every day. There are a lot of gravel farm roads around Minneapolis, and we've tried many of them. Until about 5 days ago, the weather was pretty nice. Then,

The riding I had been doing with The One I Love was making me think......he has the BMW F800GS and a Suzuki DR650. Has anyone ever tried to keep up with one of those on a DR200? It ain't easy. I started to think I needed something a little bit bigger. Not much....just a tad. Anyone know Beagldog? She had a BMW F650GS 2007 model that she wasn't going to ride. It only had 14 miles on it, and she was only a few hundred miles down the freeway in Kansas City. Guess What?

I couldn't help myself. I had to have it. I NEEDED it. I mean, don't get me wrong, I LOVE my DR200, but I had to keep up with The One I Love. I couldn't slow him down, could I? So it was really for him that I bought the 650. Yeah, for him. I got to ride it yesterday. The pavement was dry, but the temp was 40 F. I just about froze. But I had fun! I wanna ride again! NOW! but today the temp didn't break 33 F. I have heated grips and electric jacket, but I don't think that's quite enough. I'm hoping the temp goes up at some point so I can ride once more before closing the garage door for the winter. Just once more.
