A few days ago I sent nearly $500 by bank transfer to a Townsville-based company, noRRus (www.norrus.net or www.norrus.com.au) for some bike parts. I emailed the owner, Markus Normann, straight away attaching a pdf of the transfer. 2 days later he emails me asking me to send the money for my order. I start to freak out. Que passe? I email him; no reply. I phone the mobile number on the order form he sent me earlier; no answer. I look at the website and do some digging. Turns out the ABN is incorrect, and the company isn't registered as a business.
I'm hopin<st1:street w:st="on"><st1:address w:st="on"></st1:address></st1:street>g I get a flood of posts saying "I got stuff from him, no hassles" or whatever...

I am one of many ADVriders who have purchased items through Marcus. I had no problems whatsoever and went as far as to recommend him to several buyers.

Hope your issues are resolved quickly and amicably.

OK thanks. That's good enough for me. I'll shut down this thread soon as I don't want to dump on the guy if he's OK. Just have to wait for him I guess.

:deal I have had alot of deallings with Markus over the last four months and only give him the big:clap .
He has supplied me around $4k of parts, the first lot paid in Aussie dollars, the second lot into his A/C in Germany and a wash up money owed on my credit card via his web site.
He is a very busy man and there have been times when he has'nt got back to me straight away but he has delivered on price and service, the last shippment took just 8 days to my door from Germany.
Do people realise that he based in Germany.
I have a call coming from him this weekend as he's interested in my upcoming trip around Aussie.
My bike is fully set up with parts from Markus and it would be great to meet with ADV riders in Australia which starts in Sydney on the 14th May and i'll riding around for 5/6 months.
So chin up don't worry and the mail will get though.:D

How does that explain the money not reaching his bank account?? Where has your money gone if he hasn`t received it?? :dunno

i'll just assume till i hear from him that he hadn't checked his account, or that it takes longer if he's in Germany.

No worries mate.. Hope it all works for you and the parts arrive before your trip.. Crap feeling when you think you`ve been had and can`t find the answers that you need..

Yet another example of how great this ADVrider site is to be able to get information so quickly.. :clap

Tried to nuke this thread but that's not possible, so let's just say I'm grateful for the feedback and look forward to getting my gear. I'll post when that happens. I'll also suggest to Markus that he gets a correct ABN and registers his business in Australia, to avoid future hassles with other suspicious bods like moi.

    Hey i know your mind is at ease now, but i just thought i'd mention this;

last week i emailed Markus for some prices and he got back to me straight away with the quote as well as some other helpful info. He also said that he was flat out and might be in and out of contact range for the next little while. So as the other have suggested, i'd say he's probably between OZ/Germany or something like that. So no need to worry.

    Cheers.

He's a busy man alright, but he does have an unusual way of doing things.

Yeah, Int'l money transfers can sometimes take a while - a few days possibly. Same thing for money transfers from an Aust bank to an Aust credit union account.

I've bought from MArkus before too, received great, fast service at lowest prices around. :thumb

He's a mamber on here too BTW, rookiller IIRC.

I got some stuff from Markus recently.

As said before, he's not the most prompt replier to e-mails but he gets there in the end.

I got a set of wheels shipped to me at a great price, so I'd happily use him again.

It's up to the individual in the end.
