Well, how about a dual sport ride tomorrow?
ya i would try..
BUT "there" calling for 1-3 inchs of SNOW (or more = higher elevation) up here !!!
plus has been rainning all nite and even now... ground is real soft/muddy off-road..
rode muster yesterday -- hog season opened today = not a good time to ride in there now.......fyi..
so maybe ,,if can i will ride south and hope to find warmer temps..??...
i will.. other wise hope to be sitting here watching it snow!!!!
Right. I honestly didn't think about the snow. We flatlanders don't get that
got out yesterday for a bit, but I think it will be a bit soggy for my taste tomorow.
Don't think I'll be able to make Broxton this year, but from the sound of it, another year of practice wouldn't hurt..
I know there is someone here who will recognise a couple of those pics.
I've got to get back out there and do some more exploreing one day..
Is that a SPOT on your handlebar?
No. I have looked at the Spot tracking devices, but the service fees are a bit pricey for me. Hopefully I won't regret that decision, but I try not to ride the sketchy stuff alone.
That is actualy an ancient garmin GPS. No maps, but good for calibrating spedometers and not getting lost in the woods. just have to turn it on at the entrance, and then follow the lines back out.
Sometimes I get realy turned around when there are multiple intersecting trails. If I forget to turn it on until I'm already lost, the compas can be a nice feature too.
Cool. I downloaded an app called GPS copilot that actually downloads the map so it can be used offline. It also allows for some route planning though not really offroad....maybe in the desert out west
Dang, I don't feel so bad about not being able to ride today. Here it is after 1:00 and the damn temps haven't got above freezing! :eek1
It's brutal. I'm not cut out for this cold
Still going to CAW tomorrow?
There are a lot more options for emergency GPS locator beacons out there. The SPOT is actually one of the lower rated beacons. Most of them don't require subscriptions either, but they are usually just for emergencies and don't do the periodic "I'm OK" messages.
Yep, be there about 10:30. I went with a friend today to look at a 06 WR250F and he bought it!!! 2014 ← the year of the moto
There should be about 5 of us going to CAW.
Awesome! I should be there.
10-4! A predicted high of 47 sounds perfect
Maybe if you live in the mountains.. Lol
I'm from Florida.
^^^This explains a lot!!!^^^^
Carver on Sunday or Monday, anyone?
Loaded up and ready to go to CAW in the morning! Woot! Or is it Brap? lol
I doubt I'll be able to make it out two days in a row, but if you go Sunday let me know, I'll see if I can swing by for a few. Gotta work all week and next weekend.
Saturday 11th = http://bmmspark.com/ Who's in????
