A truck hit me from behind doing between 50-60 in September. I spent a couple days in the hospital, fortunate to still be around. The Dakar is totalled; waiting to see what his insurance will cover, may keep it, it's fixable, but would be a good bit of work. The Terra is awesome, hard to believe it's the same motor, unbelievably smooth and powerful, really like the bike.

    :eek1

Sucks about the bike, but could have been much worse I guess. I was looking at the Terra earlier this year - it seems like an ideal platform.

I want some sick gnarly stuff, stretch. Raced GNCC and open class for years. Newish to the area.

Great thread I just subscribed. I have a place in Saluda, NC with about 40 acres with old logging trails and single track. My son and I will be on 250dual sports and looking for riding areas and other riders Saturday October 26 to October 31st. Anyone want to ride?

    Yes, absolutely :D

Am I actually available to ride then, no...:cry

Are you around on a somewhat regular basis? Or is that the only weekend you'll be in town?

I rode from Bad Creek/Muster Ground parking lot all the way through to Gorges parking lot today (SC to NC gate is open). It was fun, a bit slick and a few pucker moments, but fun :thumb

Nice!!! We rode both of them separately since the gate wasn't open. Now, to resist the urge to take the v-strom there

I hope it's gnarly enough to keep a pro like you entertained, but not so extreme that a stock DR650 on 50/50 tires will be overwhelmed. The truth is I've only been in a mile or two, and have been waiting for someone to go with me before I push my luck any farther. Looking at the area via google earth, it looks like it goes back for a way and there are multiple trails.

Have you been to the OHV are up near Sylva NC? I rode one of the trails up there once, and it looked like it would be entertaining to a faster rider.

Lol. Not sure how fast I'll be on a dr350. Far cry from my yz250. Also... I am, by no means, a pro. Gotta ride smart, too. Bike's gotta make it back to Greenville. :D

The riding area in Sylva is called (Roy E. Taylor or Cullowhee). It's good, pretty technical in a few spots, mostly up or down, not much level riding. If it's wet it's very tricky (red clay).
