Interested in knowing if anyone owns a Honda Falcon NX4.......

Great little bike, I bought one new in Honduras CA, and rode the piss out of that bike all over Honduras. Don't sell them in the states and they are manufactured in Brasil. This was a hell of a good adventure bike and I have a hell of a lot of good memories on this thing........ and 1 bad one where I got med vac'd out of the country with my leg in 3 pieces after an idiot rode out in front of me on his bicycle, but thats another story.

Just wandering how many or if anyone owns or has owned this bike before???:freaky Salud

never owned it but I rode some in Brasil. Just the XR400 engine with electric start. Like the ATV.. I don't get why honda doesn't make the 650 and bring it here , like dominator.

Sorry I'm a bit late on this thread. Have ridden various NX4's many miles...

In an ocean of 50cc - 150cc bikes and 100 KMH speed limits, a little 400cc can rule the road...

    ...even 2UP...

    It's a sharp looking package...

Mostly a nice little "world-road bike", but has the ergos and clearance
for the occasional messy foray... :evil

    Amigo,

I rode one from my local deal here in Tijuana, Mexico and boy is it nice motor, even better sitting, and nice all around ergos (for my 5 '7, or 1.70 m)

The bad part of this story is I could not buy one at that moment and had to wait for a better time.... and now I have a KLR... But I am thinking of selling my Honda 125 NXR and getting a small biggger bike someting like 250-500 CC so this is a great option

My wife (on the left) rides one. We just returned from a 4000 km trip around the south of Brazil and Uruguai.

I have one now that I bought in Santiago, Chile. It seems to be not much of a performer and I am wondering how I could improve the power. I am getting the valves and carb adjusted and am considering gearing it down.

It sounds like you guys really like them. Are my performance expectations unrealistic?

    Probably.

Acceleration is not bad, but top speed on the one I have is around 130 km/h. All-day cruising speed is 110 km/h tops.

A couple of my friends here have them and ride them everyday. They are very dependable and get good fuel mileage.

    Tank is metal, not plastic.

Honda stopped producing it this year. The follower is called XRE300, is fuel injected and has (optionally) ABS

Why going with a smaller engine? are they also discontinuating the 250 to keep one single model?

they'll probably get more power from the new FI motor plus much improved emmisions.
i had an xr4 and they are old school.
replacing 2 bikes w/ 1 and splitting the size makes sense.

i think honda should have that in the US vrs the turdy crf230L!
i think it would sell well as it has done in SA.

Good thing is that parts will be easy to find in most countries, and the low power will help keep you out of trouble with the law.

They are decent little scoots, not exactly exciting, but your trip sounds like it's more about the journey than the riding anyway.

I'll do some off road and we'll be too up for all Patagonia, so a scoot is not an option for me!
