Anyone ridden down through western Africa recently?

    wondering about riding that route solo versus shipping from GB to Capetown and spending more time in the south?

    I'd love to hear about any feedback you get on this. I'm interested in crossing from Spain to Africa, and then riding through Senegal, etc., but concerned about the routing given the geo-politics.

    Yes...I never did get any replies. I had the same concerns. Finally, not wanting to take any chances, I've got my bike being shipped from London to Durban ZA by ship. It's slower but that wasn't a concern to me as I had to go home for a while anyway. £895...about 4 weeks. I'm supposed to have it in my hands n Durban on Nov.25th. We'll see.
