I haven't found it yet, but I'm betting it isn't too too far from me. It's too bad that I won't get to ride much for the next few days.

Sweet. Is there any kind of history to that store or just another old stone building?

Can't wait to see what's next.

This NC visitor center was closed due to a landslide but reopened over a month ago.

Craggy Gardens visitor center on the BRP.

I just knew on a day like this I was gonna get Bruced on this so I was in no hurry. I rode up through Newport and out to Hot Springs then told my GPS to take me to the tag site. Turns out my Zumo 550 doesn't know about the visitor center. Guess I coulda looked at that first. At any rate it took me through some neat places including all the way to Jupiter. Then the road turned to gravel.

Sweet cool riding. It must have rained there a few minutes before I arrived and everything had that sweet fresh smell to it.

Then this:

From the website:

"Craggy Gardens, Milepost 364
<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" /><o:p></o:p>
The name fits &#8211; Craggy Gardens. These high elevation summits are home<o:p></o:p>
to the most spectacular floral display along the 469-mile parkway<o:p></o:p>
corridor. Mid to late June is usually prime time for viewing the pink<o:p></o:p>
and purple blooms of rhododendron that blanket much of the Craggies."

All told I rode 258 miles and love it all.

Keep looking, there are a lot of old bikes out there that might look like junk but just need some TLC and very few parts to make them a nice rat bike but able to do some long distance runs.

I will keep my eyes open as well... PM yamatech5 as to the perimeters you are looking for as he is uncovering a number of bikes in his coming and going.

I just got home. Can you say S P E C T A C U L A R riding weather up there on the BRP? I knew you could. Low humidity, low temps, perfectly clear air so you could see for MILES AND MILES (y'all flatlanders ask someone from the hills what that means :lol3 ) and very little traffic. It even was considerate enough to get really heavily overcast a few times right over me so that I actually felt COLD a few times.

In the process I snagged a few new TAG photos but have to decide if I want one of those or one somewhere new. We'll see soon.

The post I made above was from a very weak cell signal. After I eat I'll edit the post with a few more pictures and some information about the site. Yeah, I was having so much fun riding I never stopped for lunch.

I think that might be enough to find it BUT I'll warn y'all that when I searched that information I found some places that weren't it.

Just curious if folks are having trouble finding this. I was afraid it would be simple with the signs in the photo. Then I tried searching for it using just that information and wasn't having much luck. Someone I know looked for it too with no joy.

Do I need to add some information?

Yup some more info might be helpful. I have used all the info from the displays. Learned 278th is stationed out of knoxville but have been having a difficult time chasing down a lead that would help with the display info. Info also suggest units are scattered all over middle and eastern TN. Then I get what seems to be a good leads and the pages are gone.

Hm. Okay, I'll say the road sounds like a final countdown out there in the Foothills of the Smokies.

:lol3 Good idea - but I'd still be bruced since I'm not "hightech" and can't upload from the road...

Man I figured lots of folks would remember passing this spot and it was too easy. Someone I spoke to didn't quite get the final countdown hint and missed that there was an odd word capitalized in there. 10 - 9 - 8 - 7 - 6 - 5 - 4 - ...uh... hm.

Man I don't want this to die. I'm hoping lots of folks will be passing near Cosby this weekend on rides. There's a few nice places to get a bite just down the road from the tag. :freaky
