Heh, now isnt that the fun of it? My next bike will be more adventuresome. I will try and scoop up a 950 super enduro or the equivalent when I have the 530 paid in full. I must pay off the car first then I can start making big payments towards the 530. I figure 3 years I will have my first adventure bike if all goes well.

Next bike will be able to do at least 2k miles on an oil change and still wear knobbies. If not I dont want it. This sort of hobby really does require more then one bike.

From Pomona-around 2 hours? Oh man, that's nice. I'm leaving at 4am for an eight hour haul. I'll be the one with the pale face, bloodshot eyes and hands stuck to the steering wheel. Have the pry bar ready. See y'all then!:rofl

    Hey guys-
Just got out of the doctor's office- I've got the flu in a bad way! But I would NEVER flake now!! It took me years to learn this area and look forward to sharing what little I've learned with my two-wheeled brethren. It's the only thing keeping me going now. See you tomorrow-

Please tell Tom that he's not obliged to be there, his health is more important. We're still grateful that he organized the ride!

We don't need Moses to lead us this time, although we will be wondering aimlessly in the desert for sure! :lol3 Don't have to worry about getting lost until we ran out of gas.

Thanks Tom for organizing and leading the ride, and Steve for the breakfast burrito - gringo style.

For sure, this is one of the best ride I've done. That is also one tough and wet ride.
Good op to meet the FFs from both socal and cencal! :clap

    Looking forward for next one.

We camped in Afton, not really a town, just a campsite. Those who came from socal like me, it's a 3.5 hour drive north from my house.

Our camp, just next to a railroad bridge. The train runs 24/7, and I guess every couple of hours. Between the hard pounding wind and the train, including a noisy neighbor, didn't really get more than 4 hours of sleep.

Little wind and plenty of blue skies, and good breakfast awaited us next morning.

Ben and Rich. Thanks Ben for the free riding lessons in the sand and dunes. At the end of the day, my fear of the sand was diminished.

Rich, Ron, and wide open dirt

The fist water crossing, guess about 20 inches deep. No way avoiding it. The only way out and back to camp. The
crossing on the way back is a refreshing reward though.

Of course, there will be a casualty! Good thing, Ben's bike is a 2-smoker and after 100+ kicks, it fired up. I felt tired just watching him. Lane (ISellers) watching and ready to give him the leg to kickstart that puppy.

You won't believe it, but this is the water flowing on Mojave River. It was fun riding on the river bed, the dirt was packed, colorful canyon and the little water provided the contrast to the ride up ahead.

Rich and I deserves what it says on my helmet. The desert is a big place to get lost. Our ride with the group ended just before noon, we searched, they searched and we didn't cross path.
