Wibby's an asshat
Don't forget to season that big thing. You couldn't just run it under a mill and remove a couple thousandths?
We'll see who the true is at Ludlum
Took a couple of thousandths off in December
I have not laid a straight edge across it to see if that's feasible, hand steering the mill throught the oval turns,,,6" face mill,,,we'll see,, I have actual paying work getting in the way of the imprtnt things like this, but it'll get there. If I put it on the mill I'll take pics,,
Who's gonna hold your beer?
Is there a difference between flat milling cast iron and turning high tensile steel? Ida thought wiff your first hand experience youlda figured.
Remember, chips not strings, strings is bad, especially with rotating stuff.
Isn't there a book or scroll with helpful info or somesuch. Maybe an almanac or hustler or?
What does that thing weigh like 325 lbs. Looks like you're barely stressin picking it up.
Clay tablets in cuneiform IIRC, is titled "Hedgemons and Lester's Metalwerking Standards."
Better yet; find the senior machinist in the shop and have him tell you how to do things. Am back on the lathes as of yesterday (fingers be damned...).
way too much curve to try to mill it smooth, a straight edge from side to side reveals enough space to stand a dime in between.
So,, I will continue to grind and sand and polish by hand until we have a usable pancake flippin surface and general grill area! Think of it as a broad shallow wok,,,,or a griddle,,witha sag in the middle of the griddle,,
about a half inch at the sides,,deeper in the center..
if you peed onnit,,you'd have a puddle of piddle in the middle of the griddle!
i need a beer,,
28 lbs according to my old crusty 1928 bathroom scale!
28.5 by the old postal scale,,,
is not like JD stands at the Gates of Ludlum and decides who enters and who does not.
everyone's welcome-cmon over
Cool 'cause there's this scooter geek is thinking about a trip south for this.
Are we there yet??
Hey Wibby: :fyyff
Is the firewood stacked up yet?
Last year someone brought a ton of mill ends to burn (bless their heart).
