I pre printed the form before I went to the Station in Springdale, although I think they have the form there. They are pretty nice people.

Excellent thread. I'm about to go through the same process with my new (to me) KDX two smoker. No title, bill of sale only. Doc's advice of not doing all the street legal stuff until you get the tag makes sense to me, but don't they check for that stuff first? Chicken or egg thing here.

No specific inspection on mine. Don't know it the trouper looked at that when he checked the serial number or not. He didn't say anything about it. Other than that no one ever looked at it.

when I took the XR in, they never looked the bike over at all..I had all the lights and street legal stuff on there but all they were interested in was the VIN..took all of 30 seconds to write the vin down and then back inside the office to sign it and hand back to you for you to mail in..they couldn't care less abt your bike, they only care abt the vin

Guess what is going to happen to the first guy who follows all these experiences and goes in with none of the 'make it legal' stuff on it............ Bawahahahaha

And then they will confiscate the bikes, jail the offenders with big fines & lawyer costs and you all will say, "Well, that did not happen to me."

And we will all be stopped on the back roads for safety checks and big fines, all because you finally talked some poor guy into going in with a straight dirt bike to get a title & tag without the proper equipment.

Won't someone think of the children?? :gerg

When it came time to renew my tag, I got a notice it was flagged.:eek1
The lady at the tag office spent 20 minutes on the phone with LR, and got nowhere.:becca
She suggested I give them a day or two to "research it". :hmmmmmThis was on a Wednesday. Friday afternoon I called LR and explained the problem, the lady there checked a few things and we reviewed the process I went through last year......she said I'll check around and call you back in 10 or 15 minutes.:ear

So Today I figured my 10-15 minutes was up and called LR again, and was told that the matter was fixed and my title is in the mail.:clap

    I'm cautiously optimistic.:1drink

For future reference, make sure that you get your bond, the paperwork LR mails you back, and your proof of insurance to the tag office before 30 days passes. For some reason this is a big deal.:huh

I had a similar issue when I got my renewal. It was flagged. I called and got a hold of a guy that was pretty reasonable. His comment was quote "Oh you submitted a "gray" bond, we used to not accept "gray" bonds but we do now." Me (I have no ideal what a gray bond is) - "so it's OK?" Him "Yes it's fine. I just took the flag off and you can now renew online, your title will be there in a few days". I had never gotten the title, didn't realize that. Sure enough I was able to renew and the title showed up in 3 days.
