after yesterdays rain, mud is thick out this way!
Morning! Just back from a weekend hunting trip to TX. Two less Bambi's in the population.
Had the GS in last week for oil change and post trip look over. Got one of those calls I did not need. Rear U-Joint going bad at only 24,000 miles. :huh
Apparently (and I knew this before) there was a lot of corrosion on the back of the drive shaft - looks like the original owner had ridden in salted snow roads. There is a small access port on the bottom about 2 inch big. Figure the salt got on it and started corrosion.
BMW does not think those shafts should be rebuilt and its almost $800 for a new one. Did some research here and found a place in Green Bay, WI that can rebuild them and put in grease fittings for $290. Had Jerry send it there, hope it works out.
Damn, go back to work Joe. After all, my paycheck is due the first of the month.
probably the best hamburger EVER!!!..darn!
Dude, we got more then enough deer here that need killing!!!!
Well damn, never got to try it. It was always closed whenever I tried. Never could figure out their hours.
I will get to those shortly..... I love deer hunting in west TX, different animal (no pun intended... well yes it was..)
Was a regular there in the 70's and early 80's while going to college and working in Fayetteville. Damn good burger! Have to admit have not eaten there since then. Suzie Q's still open in Rogers?
Hopefully someone will buy Brenda's and keep it going. I have a feeling that corner is a million dollar piece of property so itll probably be gone soon. Too bad.
Trust me Charlie, I got you covered..... Just hope Doc's pres. don't make it worse!
Suzie Q's was open a couple of weeks ago.
38 years ago today was my first day of Basic Training.....
Seems like yesterday....

That sucks. I put nearly 180K on my lebbenfiddy with nary a problem with the driveline. It was still running the original clutch when I centerpunched a bambi.
I still think the 1100/1150 GS's are a tougher breed than the newer ones.
51 years for me.
Some pics of the bikes that I looked at last Friday, in Dallas.
Notice the Warn Winch on the back
Test rode the V7 Stone Guzzi. It had all day torque, very firm rear suspension and is beautiful to behold. Also had lunch at the Hard Rock Cafe, with my oldest daughter. I had a great day in Dallas looking at motorcycles, particularly spending all day with my daughter.
Big thanks and much love for all of the veterans out there!
That Guzzi looks wicked....
yesterdays rains made the road out here soup..they are firmed up a bunch today...oh, and (Random rabble and post count builder )
