yeah they didnt have kroil, so I got PB blaster
checked this morning, it really wasnt wicking 'down' the bolt.

the FPI flouro-pentrant "Zyglo" was the best penetrant I had ever seen, no access to it any more though.

Our shop guy exclusively uses "Yield" now...he swears by it. $14-15 per can, though.

I can find out where he gets it (it's German), if you want:

NIve never heard of that stuff Tim, im sure I can find a supplier for it, but

everything ive read, and folks ive talked to say that its likely corroded all the way down into the block, and nothing short of mechanical extraction will work.

gonna drill it out, and remove the head, exposing the several inches of head bolt shank stuck in the block
and get to it so I can heat it, and try and twist it out via the shank

i might have to weld a nut half way down it, and grind flats on the top, AND use a pipe wrench, to spread the load out over the length of the shank to try and not break it off further.

its just piss poor timing for me right now.

Yes, pretty much any of the other 50 something weekends of the year when im not camping 3 days of that week would suit me better.

as it is, I likely wont touch it again until sunday.

I am rethinking my decision to not have a 3rd car too, I hate to have one that sits most days, but I guess that might just be necessary to keep this crazy thing I call a family/household thing functioning.

I dont want him in traffic just yet.

he can ride and has ridden my beemer, and he has been after me to register his cr230
I think he needs more time in a car before he is ready for that.

messed with it last night, which means I cleaned it off, and charged the battery
    it needs a fuel pump.
just a generic low pressure 12v pump, the one I put on a few years back has given up the ghost.
I will try to back flow it with air compressor first, because it is making pumping noises, just not moving fluid.

that car is really NOT fun to drive in the winter though..

I think you should make him buy his own wheels. After he's paid or worked to fix it after breaking it he'll have a better appreciation.
