That's what she said.
My project this afternoon. New chain, sprockets and chain guides. Got the gearing at 14/52. Turned out to be a bigger job than I expected but it always does.
That thing ought to climb a tree now.
lets see now..that should put your top end at about 48mph then...
abt 7 hrs of sleep does it for me..am good to go now
trying to figger a way to join some y'all down at Oark later..don't wait on me tho
So a buddy and I are going exploring down you all's way today. Is there a good place to eat lunch in Oark or Pettigrew? I haven't been down this way much (from MO), trying to plan a tough route for two big bikes on dirt.
Nuttin in Pettigrew..Oark is where ya wanna go..and if Oark is too busy for (it is very popular among the pirate crowd, just continue on down the road abt 3 1/2 miles and feast at Catalpa, another popular eatery..now if a coldcut sandwich will do for ya, then there is Turnersbend on the pig trail (hwy 23)..
Stock is 14/50 and top end is around 99 mph. (maybe more but the electronic speedo only has 2 digits ) It worked pretty good but I had to slip the clutch in 1st on the tight, rocky uphill sections on the singletrack. I tried 13/50 and it was too low. Last Sun I ended up shifting between 1st and 2nd to much in the tight stuff. Even at 13/50 it would hit the 80's....
So 14/52 should be just right! Just a little more grunt on low end- it pulls like a tractor. Top end will still be in the 90's, not that I would ever need to go that fast
So that's your orange lesson for the day
so, you gonna test ride it to Oark today? shudnt take you more than 15 min to get there....
It doesn't have one of those piddly narrow ass ratio transmissions like a Jap bike Grasshopper.
Hell I love 13/50! Hell, I'm running 13/50 on mine. The 07's came with stupid ass gearing because of the EPA crap, 15/45 :eek1 Damn thing would do over 100, but it actually couldn't pull 6th to redline with that gearing.
I could of lived with 13/50 and been fine. It seemed to make only about the top half of 1st usable and 2nd wouldn't crawl in the rough stuff and hit without a hesitation. I think this may be better. I think a 14 is a little easier on the chain and guide wear that a 13 too.
So where's the good eats in Oark and what's the local specialty?
Same place there is gas, the only place & since there is no other place just like that place anywhere near that place, it must be the place.
Hey guys been a while. Sold the XR was getting hard on my wrist to ride. Been looking around at the BMWs lately just need something smoother to ride. Wanted to see if you guys could vote on this contest for my daughter. She is in 1st and needs a big push to win. Any help would be great. If u can share it around. Email,FB,other forums anything will help. it ends tomorrow at 8pm. Just trying to win this. she is OCtober. There is no way we could do this hunt if she did not win it. She killed this hog with a knife last year. Went just over 200 lbs. Pretty good for a 9 year old huh?
Thanks for any votes or help guys. Really need it to pull this off. Good thing there is no sheep in there. Dan would tilt the votes that way for sure
population in Oark is only about 300 so only one eatery is needed..
