You can do it the way Doc described which works. But if you don't have Basecamp or Mapsource software on your computer it will save it as a .php file. If you have either of the two softwares it will download as a .gdb or .gpx depending on how Doc saved the tracks. It's best to save them to a file on the desktop. Name it whatever. Both extensions will work with the software.

EDIT: Magoo just informed me that no matter which of the two sofwares you use it will now save as a .php file. First I knew of this but I'm sure he is accurate.

Thankyou both for the help. Firefox worked fine. I would like to know how to fix IE instead of bypassing the problem. It didn't use to do this so......

Its not just your files Dr. Its IE. See you at SLAP soon.

I've been trying to download the gpx files and Internet Explorer insists on trying to save the file as "attachment.php". The fix I found is to change the compatibility settings. In IE, go to "Tools" then "Compatibility View settings". Add "advrider.com" and you're done.:clap

Only 3 posts...and this is a gem. This does it for those of you (like me) that upgraded their Internet Exploder, apparently it didn't carry that compatibility change with the new version.

    You da man.

ok, let's see if I did this right.... the saving and uploading of a track that is.

This is a track I put together that starts at Compton and rides through the buffalo area and through Jasper and back to Compton. I rode it this last Sunday With Kendal_Smith and our wives and it was a pretty good little ride. If the river is up too high this route is not passable. We hit some really nice, fun roads on this.

This route starts in Springdale at the hwy 412 and I-49 interchange.

This is almost 100 miles from FYV to Jasper, mostly on dirt roads. There is a bail out point at Ponca which will be on hwy 74 all the way to Jasper if you think you've had enough dirt. If you want more dirt, a few more miles of hwy will take you to the Walker Mtn road and this is some awesome back road riding. You will be so far back in the woods that not only will you hear banjo music, but they will have to pump daylight to you!

4 waypoints point to fuel, Huntsville, Kingston, Ponca and of course Jasper

These are ROUTES..if you want tracks, you will have to convert them.

Some more single track around Mill Creek. This is tight woods single track...smoker if you got 'em. And even for not so bright big bore 4 stroker riders, like myself.

Don't have the track file anymore but here is a mapsource route of this ride if that helps. You will have to trace over it so that it matches your map set.

It looks like either Charlie forgot to attach the gpx or it could be that he posted that in a thread that does not allow attachments.

There are a few gpx files in here that will get you to Natural Dam..hopefully you can find them on the first page showing a catalog of gpx's here

    Here ya go Doc.

This route leaves White Rock campsite and goes from Hurricane creek to Old Locke Rd. It does not go down Warloop Road, though one could easily do that by taking the Warloop road off Old Locke Rd. From there it crosses Old Hwy 71 at Winslow then up over I49 toward the West.

From there it winds around and South through Cedarville where you will find a great BBQ place (I'm a Jerk BBQ) there is a waypoint on the route for this stop if you desire.
The route then heads North to Natural Dam and on into the small town of Morrow. From there you hit Lincoln which is the Northern most point of the route. This is approximately half way on this route and you have several places to get fuel and food in Lincoln.

You will leave Lincoln heading South and and back East finally passing over I49 and the Bobby Hopper Tunnel. You go into Winslow where again fuel and snacks are available then South on old Hwy 71 to the Winfrey Valley Cutoff and back west to the White Rock camping area. Easy ride and big bike friendly unless you opt to go down Warloop road. (some have ridden Warloop on big bikes but I would not recommend it). Enjoy.
