I'd like to know what you do with your helmet when you get off the bike.
Vote YES if you hang your helmet, or perch it on the bike.
Vote NO if you place it on the ground or some other suitable surface.

As you can see, I am not a helmet hanger.

If my bike will be out of eyesight at all, it goes with me. If I'm staying near, I hang it unless there is a clean picnic table or similar.

Mine sits on the saddle with a lock cable so it can't fall far enough to hit anything. The cable goes through the rear rack and up to the tank bag. Last time I left one on the ground some asshat helped himself/herself to it :cry (it was hidden behind the front wheel in my work's parking ramp - because I forgot to move the cable between bikes :eek1). Took me over a year to find another in that pattern.

Another advantage of locking it to the seat is that no one can test sit on MY bikes uninvited :clap

Hang on bar or sit on seat! Its usually dirty or muddy on the ground.

Was at Red River MC Trails, Belcher TX on Saturday AM. Did not ride as it was about to rain. Rode Cross Timbers on Friday in OK City OK. :ricky

I usually carry it with me, but if its going to be a long stop I have a bag that has a steel mesh between two layers that you can lock to the bike. Keeps out the rain and other unwanted things. I have known people who have cable locked their helmet to the bike come back and find its been pissed in!

Depends. If I'm staying with the bike, I hang it by the chin bar on the barend mirror. If I'm leaving the bike, I lock it on the helmet lock.

Neighbor dude used to leave his perched on the mirror at all times. Rain or shine, hot or cold. Never took it inside. Who wants to come out in the cold and wet and put on a cold, damp helmet? Yuck.
