The Arkansas 500 is a Dual Sport Motorcycle ride (not race) that spans three days and travels over 500 miles of back roads in the Natural State. Arkansas offers the most diverse sites and experiences for dual sport riders in the Midwest, including beautiful wooded forest, large hill climbs, incredible water crossings and more back roads that can be ridden in 10 years! Get on your bike and ride the 2nd Annual Arkansas 500 April 13-15, 2012 with like-minded people out for a great weekend.

It looks like we will be camping at Devil's Den Friday, April 13 and Long Pool on Saturday, April 14. I will get the site updated soon, but go ahead and take a look at it now:

Yea, I think I posted on the top of the pages that it would take me a while to update the site. I will get that done within a couple weeks. I just want everyone to save the dates. They will not change! Watch this thread and I 'll let everyone know when I get it updated.

Well some sections last year sure did feel like a race!!
I think I had The Dirt Pig topped out coming up out of Limestone.....then I got passed by a XR600!!!

I won't be able to make Scotty's ride this year, but sure wish I could.

Most anyone would love this tour.

p.s. couldn't get the "rider sign up" link to work

You sure are right...the ride from Limestone to the camp was fast. Everyone was tired and ready for eats. Thanks for the shortcut and the stop at Pilot Knob. That was really cool. We will ride a different route totally next year. I am planning it now. Give me a ring when you get up in the Eureka Springs area I'd love to ride together again.

Scotty, we are in! 2 for sure but maybe another one, once I talk my bro-in-law into it.

Are you going to do same format for this post as last year?
That was really cool posting the info on first page with updates, campsite contact info, gps routes etc.

    Counting down! :clap

    Signed up!

I asked in the message I sent on the website, but are we carrying all of our supplies with us on each leg of the trip?

Good Idea Albie. Start its own thread. I'm in for both the 500 and 1000.

We supply sag truck with trailer for all your gear. We will be better organized this year and do breakfast and dinner for both nights. Of course, to do this we must have some kind of fee. We are working on that now and will make it cheap. The whole idea of this ride is to just spend three days riding and camping.

    you now have my attention.

3 days of camping would do me a tremendous amount of good.

Will the routes be big bike able?

We will stick to the back roads. No trails. So, how big a bike you have?

Will there be GPS downloads available?

I like GPS tracks. They require no thinking or planning. I think and plan at work all week.

I will gladly pay for someone else to do the thinking and planning......then i can just ride.

He's on an 1150 GS. This ride sounds like fun, I will have to try and make it. Kudos to you for putting it on!

I can put a knobby on if needed, but generally the dirt roads around here have not posed a problem for me.

Fantastic! Join the fun. We do stay on gravel roads, no trails, so with your experience in the area you will be fine.

I'll make the gps routes available by March. I'm planning now and want to ride the first leg soon.
