In the three days I spent on White Rock I saw Black Bear each day. I saw one on Fanes Creek Road and another on Bowles Gap Road. That area is crawling with Bear!

Finally got well enough to get back on the bike so Charlie and I decided to head on over to the Ozone Mountain Burger Barn. Here are a few shots on the day and a couple of videos too.

After meeting in Huntsville and having our morning coffee we headed on out and it was a great day for riding, high of the day going to be about 83 or so and only problem it is dry...very dry. So lotsa dust but we just spread out and had no problem since there were only the two of us.

Here's the Master after performing his morning duties

Most of you locals will recognize the places in the video but hadn't gotten any for a long time so wanted to post up a few. This first one doesn't have the GPS data as I was in tree cover and didn't get a gps lock.

We arrived at Burger Barn about 11:30 as I remember and had the place to ourselves.

Burgers were good but the flys wanted em worse than we did I think.

Nice comfortable picnic area set up and ready for anybody that stopped by.

This guy looked like he had been hunting for a long time but didn't say much.

After our burger and fries, we mounted our trusty steeds and headed on back toward St. Paul where we both split and headed for the house.

Great day, sure was good to get out again.

    Later.

    NIce 10cup!

btw, your videos play just fine, in both screen sizes for me.

there are some quality setting differences between what you are recording and what Oleary is recording i think.

Good to hear Matt, not sure what the differences are between his video camera and mine other than different models of Contour cameras of course.

I know the your's will do 60 FPS. The Roams will only do 30 FPS unless you load up the original firmware then you can do 60.

Are you recording in 1080 or 720?

I don't have much to add to Mikes report. The temperatures were great but the dust...well the dust was bad.

    Rest break

I had 198 miles on the day. We rode a relaxed pace and still managed to cover some miles. The hamburger was great as always but the damn flies were awful. Maybe I should have bathed?

Had surgery for kidney stones, no cutting but it still kicked my arse. One more kidney to go maybe next month once we're sure this kidney is ok.

I posted that Doc had wiped out on the Arkansas BS thread. There are a few pictures and the story HERE.

Doc got to my place around 10am and we headed out through Beaver to catch Butler Hollow road and head NE.

Doc waiting on a couple of Pirates that couldn't decide whether Beaver Bridge was safe.

We cut through Butler Hollow. This was the area that was washed out last year. Almost a half mile had to be rebuilt. This is the area.

Some scenery near the Royal Rangers Camp above Butler Hollow.

Crossing Roaring River just east of Roaring River State Park.

112 Spur Road just behind the fish hatchery in Roaring River State Park. If you've never seen it I wouldn't be surprised as it looks like part of the hatchery access roads. But it is worth riding as it is very scenic and shady.

After leaving the park we headed to Cassville and Papa Vitos Restaurant for our lunch. Their Italian sandwiches are killer!

After lunch our route was to take us to Powell then Pineville. We kinda got sidetracked with Docs wreck.

As for what happened click the link above. The slab is located at coordinates: N36.65993 W94.03490. Watch it as it's damn slippery and the road past it is a no go anyway because it has a gate across it.

I had 89 miles for the day.

Prior to the wipe out our ride was great. Get well soon Doc!

Sorry to hear about your getoff Doc! Hope you get to feeling better. I know the feeling both in greasy low water bridges and broken ribs. You will be back as good as new before you know it. :norton
