I noticed "quiet" is a requirement... how firm are they on that?

    thanks for the info
ya got one cree flood an two small spot leds ,that are brighter than high beam stock light.

wanting to do just what you have done, or maybe cut too fit into where stock headlight should be.

beside i've seen videos of some led lights getting hit by sledge hammer and still work -even till they where about broken in half...

    thanks again
    enjoy ya ride

They do run a db meter at tech. Stock mufflers no problems. Aftermarket, only seen one denied because he was so loud.

That was me, on a big bore XR400 with a nasty cam and White Bros exhaust, blew 103db. Of course, it wasnt street legal anyway, and I was just there to course marshall a section, but had I been an entrant, I'd be sent packing. Mighta helped if I'd repacked the muffler...

If you have a bike like that, dont bother coming! If you are a "little" loud, you will be told to keep the revs/sound down around residences.

Spark arrestor, no ifs ands or buts!

Point being, these are privately owned lands, with other privately owned neighbors, and Marvin wants to keep them all happy {for the 9th year}...

I'll be riding my DRZ with a stock can and aftermarket end cap.

Kyle, I think your bike will be fine though it can really benefit from the quiet insert.... or you can do it on a WRR :evil

Hey ob1, fully recovered from the RV crash? I'd love to see that DRZ in action

Not quite, I have a spot in my back that is just taking it's sweet time. Might even go see a doctor!

I do not suggest y'all try rolling a stepvan, even if you have cat-like ninja reflexes as I do...

Just finished fixing up the bike, went with a black plastic kit, and some DRZ-SM signals and drop fender.

Do any DR 650 or KLR 650 sized bikes enter? Part of the trails run in and out of our land and seem tight for bikes as large as those. My son rides a DR and me a KLR.

The KLRs and DRs do ride it, but I would suggest using the easy-outs provided if you dont like what you see. Some of the gnarly technical stuff can be gnarly and technical! That trail is concentrated in Marvin's section, and one we call Gold Mine.

I've even seen big Beemers make it on the tough stuff...but if you doubt your capability based on the terrain you are seeing, take the easy-out!

Got a note from Marvin today!

    "
Hi folks, just a short update for the Armenia D/S to be held on May 18, 2014.

Bad news and good news. Bad news- lost a couple of properties where we had trail due to logging and a sale.
Good news - We have worked hard to gain that trail mileage back by extending existing trail.

We still have a couple of sections to work which can be completed in a couple of days.

Route sheet is not done yet, but guessing we will wind up with about 70-75 miles total with over half of that trail as in the past.

At this point we are about 2/3 full and entries trickle in each day. Those of you that gave me an e-mail address have been notified that I have rec'd your entry(s).

Just a short reminder: Please insure your bike is street legal and all lights work and also has a spark arrestor. We will check and if you can't meet those standards we will gladly refund your money.

Please remember that updates on other Dual Sports can be found here: www.carolinadualsporters.com
    See ya soon.

Hello, Randy here. Im signed up for this ride and looking forward to it.I live in the Lake Lure area SE of Asheville. A crash while racing motocross left me with a plate and screws in my shoulder. Other than my Harley, I have not been back on a bike for 10 years. Just got a KTM 500EXC and looking forward to meeting you folks. My days off are Sundays and Mondays. Maybe ill be able to join yall on some rides.
