Hi Joel- I will run down the hill and meet anyone who is interested near Old Town and the 15 as Stu mentioned around 9:00 a.m
Regarding available accommodations - Have the camper available, a comfy hammock on the deck, a couch, and plenty of space for those who want to sleep outside under the stars with the coyotes.

Sounds Good Stu - meeting @9:00 am with KSU by 9:15 a.m should be more than enough time for us to get there - just a warning they are doing a big new on-ramp re-alignment project there ( already tore down the AM\PM) and have nightly freeway closures- but should not affect that time of the day. If anything changes- we can adjust as needed.

Also have a few options available on the route if needed and time permits

Due to business back East, I will have to attend in spirit only. Just got back from a ride in Baja, where I kept thinking of all the good times we had there. I toasted him several times a night. His was a life worth celebrating!!!

In for a 0900 show time. Assuming ya'll will let a 1200GS be seen in the company of your KTMs....

When we did the AZBDR a few years back, Arnie diplomatically asked me to move my BMW out of a picture near the rim of the Grand Canyon.

Thanks for starting the thread - just found it now. There were posts in LA and Baja threads with no updates, so I'm guessing a lot of people aren't clued in - I don't look at the West Region root very often.

I do plan to be there...will ride in with Spa. Likely would go over the 78 from Oceanside.
I just looked at a map and it's a LOT further south than I anticipated. Oh well, we'll have to leave a little earler.

    See ya's there.

Arnie was a good guy, we talked about boats, fishing, and lobstering too. He was on one of my noob-rally rides, we had lunch at the island on Race Track playa.

    Hi Chris,

We will be hitting the 76 coming in from Rice Canyon around 9:30 am. Its about 2 miles in from the 15 and about 4 miles before Pala. Then taking a mostly paved route up to Mesa Grande and options to by-pass Black Canyon road for street tired bikes would be to continue on to Santa Ysabel and hang a right. Makes a really nice loop if you take the 78 back down and out.

Hello everyone this is Jason Arnie and Christie's friend here in Ramona.
Arnie has been my friend, family, riding buddy, and a mentor of the Baja to me. His infectious happy personality and smile has effected so many friends and family !! He will be missed. I have been organizing the Celebration with other friends and wanted to update everyone. Saturday Sept 30th 12:00pm. 431 Aqua ln, Ramona,Ca 92065.
We have Arnie's favorite band starting at 1:00pm.
We have three kegs, IPA's, Coors lt, wines, sodas, h20. Your welcome to bring your own booze !!!
Smoked pork shoulder, BBQ style as well as pork tacos Arnie style ! Plenty of food and snacks.
There will be an after party at one of our friends afterwards. I've read that some of you are riding down. There is 4-5 spots to camp at the after party if anyone needs a spot. I also looked into Dos Picos County park here in Ramona that has spots available as well, $24 per spot, that hold 4-5 bikes and 8 persons. If anyone needs any info I'll try to line up anything I can !!! Ride safe !! See ya all at the party !!

431 Aqua ln. Is the corrected typo.
    Ya can't get lost !!!

Our host for the after party has invited anyone to camp at his house. There's 6-10 good spots. We all will be doing brunch Sunday am.

If there is any interest in Dos Picos Park. I viewed spot 55, and it's pretty nice. $24 plus $5 to reserve. 4-5 bikes up to 8 people. Spot 59 is ok. Fyi !
IMG_6101.JPG IMG_6098.JPG Last minute will be full hook up spots for $29 for camping.

We'll try to get to the Temecula meet-up, have gassed up there many a time. Otherwise at the 76 junction a half hour later. Will have to see how Jim (Spafxer) is doing on time - he has to come from over a hundred miles away just to get to OC. I've done it in just over an hour, but you know how that goes...:p3rry

I have to get back home Saturday afternoon for work, so maybe one beer and some cheer and hit the road again. Traffic will likely be stupid. :(

Weather sunny and mild to warm. :bmwrider

Damn - I wish I could attend! Would have ridden down from Washington if I didn't have business back east this weekend. Keep raising a toast to Arnie for me!

I had all the margaritas I could manage in honor of him a week or two ago in Baja! Still brings tears to my eyes to imagine that frickin' smile of his!!

I'm riding down on an FZ1 but I'll bring my camping stuff if I can. Joel, I'll find you and see where you land with camping. It's been too long and I need a little downtime to process all this anyway. See you boys soon.

For camping further north but in the north SD region, I was going to suggest Indian Flats out near Warner Springs, but in looking it up it seems it's been closed due to fire since July. Oh well.

There's also Blair Valley up near Butterfield Ranch if you want the desert wilderness experience - free blm camping.

And if you want to get further north there's a little place called Dripping Springs off the 79 about 11 miles east of Pechanga:
