Bacon went walk about today at Cradel Mountian, home again after a big bush walk. Yesterday he took a ride on a 6 foot tall poodle pics to follow!!!!
Im glad the little pink guy had a great time in my home town of Sydney,,Ive got to go,,my bacon and eggs is on the table...
Is anybody else wondering what Bacon did for his first Christmas?
He went dirt riding Christmas day up to Ansons Bay and around Policemans point area and Binalong Bay northeast Tasmania, he had a Ham cheese and tomato roll for lunch on a logging track. (we told him that it was beef)
He is now in Hobart and went out to Strathgordon and Gordon dam on lake Pedde for a ride today.
He has asked me to wish all ADV Riders all the best for 2008 and hopes to meet as many of you as possible.
Will try to post some pics soon its not easy on dial up at internet cafe's

Where's the pork??
The little bugger has made it back to Sydney 8000 km's around SE Aussie, report to start tomorrow
He has his passport ready and is looking to hitch a ride so if anyone is heading to Europe, USA, or any other exotic location let us know. We will be sad to see the little fellow go but travel by bike he must...
Bacon may be doing a lot of riding, but we haven't seen pics in a long time. What's up with that?
It was great to catch up with you and the little pink pillion in Tassie mate. Glad the trip went well.
Regards Bob & Julie
Well at least he was traveling light, nice rig.
23 day trip around South East Aussie.
Left Sydney around 10 Am lazy Bastards
Superslab to escape the city.
At Marulan we turned south to Bungonia then on to Braidwood and to Cooma was great to be on the dirt no cops fresh air and open horizions
then through to Jindabyne. All the way we were dodging the rain.
Stopped at the loaded dog a bike friendly pub for a drink
After checking out what the Jindabyne cousins were up to it was off to bed little bugger wanted to check out the weather channel
Shame we missed seeing the little fella on his travels around Sydney, our wee Hog wants to wish the little pig all the best on his journey!
Woke up to torrential rain it soon became clear that it was going to stop so we waited and only left Jindabyne at 11 AM.
The rain had stopped but it was blowing a gale. The Barry way goes South alongside the Snowy river through to Buchan it goes through some amazing country.
As the tar turned to dirt
and we started to go down into the valley the wind dropped
There had been rain and the country was so much more green than the last time I was through there.
the Snowy river was flowing well and we had a few stops to enjoy the view and bacon saw his first wildlife a family of emu's
At the end of the Barry way we turned toward Mckillop's Bridge
After Mckillops bridge it was through to the Bonang Highway
about 100 KMS of twisties with a little dirt for good measure.
Spent the night in Orbost more to follow now that I've worked out how to post pics. Thanks ATGreg for the help with pics.
Let it be known Bacon likes the wind in his face! Great pictures and nice report. Emu? Thats an exotic animal over these parts!
YEAH!!! Go Bacon.... Cant wait to see what else he gets up too...
We left Orbost heading to Melbourne.
Via Nowa Nowa, Bruthen it was very windy the bike was hard to keep in a straight line some of the gusts must have been around the 120 kph mark.
Then through to Bairnsdale, Meerlieu, Longford ,Gormandale.
This is where we got it wrong :eek1 :eek1 :eek1
We followed the GPS towards the grand ridge road. We had the GPS set on shortest distance. So we followed a logging track and after the pre Christmas Rains things got interesting.
There were a couple of easy creek crossings,
but as the track wound its way up hill it became harder and harder.
Stone had been laid, but the road surface was very slippery and having Pillion in a million on the back was a bit of a worry as we climbed the rear wheel was having a hard time tracking.
We had a small lie down it was slippery and as I put my foot out to try and steady things, I knew that the underlying surface was way too soft.
No harm to bike, Pig, Rider or pillion.
The pics unfortunately do no Justice.
Bacon was a little shook up so we gave him some time in the wild flowers
We joined the Grand ridge road near Balook.
We followed the ridge road accross the Strezelecki range until Mirboo North.
From there we went through to Trafalga then the highway to Melbourne to catch the ferry to Tassie.
Bacon had his own bunk on the Ferry
little bugger was so excited that he took a long time to settle.
