How is this even a question?? You've been taking your time to enjoy the sights for the past few months and now you won't stay put to enjoy the one sitting right on your lap for a few days?!? Europe will still be there.

    Hey Lalo,

Been following your trip for a while now and have thoroughly enjoyed it. Continue to live the adventure and congrats on meeting Cathe...I hope that you stay and go to the wedding. Maybe when you head over to Europe, she'll have a flight going that way and you can meet up with her again :clap

    yes, staying for the wedding.
Then I am hoping to go on to Ica with her for some Peruvian wine tasting at the wineries there.
And that is one of the benefits of working for the airlines. She can fly for free or almost free on most airlines in the world. So depending how it goes this weekend, I think it might not be the last time I see her
Stay tuned to see how it all plays out.
    I am curious too

Did you know you can rent a nice highrise apartment here in Lima overlooking the ocean for $1000 a month?
If I wasn't looking forward to the rest of my trip RTW, I would spend a lot more time here. But I am making mental notes of it all.

If it were me I would spend some time right where you are! The rest of South America will still be there waiting for you when the time comes to leave. Some opportunities only come around once. You don't want to miss out on a very attractive door being opened for you!

    It's unanimous.
    I am staying.
But I feel the pressure to continue on.
My plan is to be in Europe in May so I can spend all summer there.
Any additional time spent here in South America will mean less time in Europe.
And since my plan is to come back thru So America, I can always hit what I miss here on my way back.
But some doors only open once and this is something that I have been waiting for.
And you can't buy your way in to the experience of a real Peruvian wedding with a super hot Latina gal..........that is of course it's your own wedding. And I have the rest of the world to explore before that happens.

I went surfing this morning here in Lima.
I can't believe how cold the water is here.
    Wetsuits are definitely needed here.
I am at about 12 degrees south latitude.
And at the same latitude north (Panama or Costa Rica) it is like a bathtub.
In between sets, I was thinking how lucky I am. I wake up each day and do what I want. Ok
I do what I want within reason.
I dont stay I luxurious places all the time and don't drink 1959 Chateau Lafite every night. But I pretty much do what I want
Or to put it another way.......I don't have to do the things I don't want to do.
And I think of my old life and most other people's lives, and they spend the majority of their time doing things they don't want to be doing (like work or chores) to spend some of their time doing the things they enjoy.
I guess the goal is to find a good balance.
I can't afford this lifestyle forever. But when I can't any more, I am going seek a better balance between doing the things I want and the things I need to do.
    Life is too short otherwise

Do what you want to do and feel that you need to do. As I said before the only regrets I have in life is about things I wanted to do but did not do.

Enjoying your RR. Your photos seem to be getting better and better.

I remember you telling me that about regrets.
They are words that I will live by.
last night The Cure was playing in concert here in Lima.
I didnt know about it until this morning
I regret not knowing about and not going.
I am trying not to miss anything on this trip.
One regret I will have is passing by something I didn't know about to only find out later about it.
It would be heartbreaking to find out that I miss something spectacular and pass on by it because of my ignorance. This might be the only time in my life that I have this kind of freedom to travel the world.
In this world of internet and global communivation, information is nearly perfect and at little or no cost.
There is no reason to miss something along the way.
So I regret not going to see The Cure last night.
I am not a big Cure fan but........how much fun that would been to see them in Lima
