Lalo, It's been a hoot following your RR. Your meant to meet up with a friend of mine in DA'LAT Vietnam. I'd like to send you a private message but I'm not sure how to do that, so if you have a minute maybe you can send me a e-mail and I can get back to you. bob@adventurepockets.com Ride Safe

It has been two weeks since i rode a motorcycle and i was going thru withdrawals. So i fired up the only bike i have without a dead battery and went for a ride.
As the rest of the country seems to be snowed in, Southern California is having warm sunny days.
I headed up in to the mountains near Lake Hemet

My buddy Mark and his son Andrew invited me to stay at their house in the desert. He tempted me there with Blue Chimay, guacamole, an outdoor jacuzzi tub and a nice bed to sleep in. So how could i say no to that

Mark and i went on a little ride from the desert in to the nearby mountains. The road is nicknamed "Palms to Pines" and it is one of the best rides in Southern California on a beautiful winter day.

He just left my house. Joined him for a nice ride (too short) and some good food, stimulating conversation and adult beverages. He says if all goes well he will not be back in the states for awhile. I wish you safe travels my friend.

I have had this motorcycle for over 10 years. It is a 1999 Honda CBR1100Xx.....also known as a Blackbird.
I still think it is the best sport touring motorcycle ever

The weather here in So Cal has been perfect......sunny and 80 degrees
So I have been doing some riding around the area

But today, i leave for Hong Kong. I am hoping to rent a scooter or something

Looks like a good road for a sport bike! Always enjoy your updates, even if they are close to home.

Guessing there's no wineries in HK, but I'm betting you can track down everything else you need...cept open spaces. Looking forward to seeing it through "your eyes".

I flew out of LAX Wednesday night.
I made it on the flight standby with only 2 open seats left on a 777
Crossing the International date line, it was like Thursday never existed for me.
I arrived in to Hong Kong at sunrise Friday morning.
From the airport, i took a bus to the docks and hopped on to a ferry to Macau.
Once i got to Macau, i hopped on a free shuttle bus to the Wynn casino. I asked about finding place to rent a scooter
I then hired a taxi to take me to the scooter place
The scooters are like $60 a day for a Chinese built 50cc load of rubbish (guess i am spoiled)
So i rented it for $20 for 3 hours and that was enough time to see the country from top to bottom.
Then i took the ferry back to HK, getting there at sunset.
At that point, i started to search for a place to sleep. But all the hostels were full on a Friday night.
I took a trolley to Causeway Bay and everything was full there too
I was so tired as i didnt sleep much on the plane the night before. Plus i was lugging around àll my stuff that i brought with me for the past three weeks on my shoulder.
I took a subway across the bay to Kawloon and found a bed at midnight.
Right now i am at the airport waiting for my plane to Bangkok. From there, i have an all night bus ride back to my moto.
I can't wait to put this public transportation BS behind me and get back on The Flying Dutchman 2 and gain my independence back
