They was a butterfly area too. I have never seen so many butterflies. I am not too cool to say it was pretty cool.
And you can watch them come out of their cocoon and become a butterfly right before your very eyes.

I spent the whole day at La Paz Waterfall Gardens. I didn't want to spend the money to stay in that rockstar room another night so I camped in the parking lot.

The next morning, I rode to the top of Volcan Poas. It is a 9000 foot active volcano that you can drive up to and look down in to the active crater. The problem is that most of the time it is covered in cloud. And it was no different when I arrived first thing in the morning. But like clockwork, within 5 minutes of arriving, the clouds blew away so I could get these pictures. And 2 minutes later, the clouds came back in and the view of the crater lake were gone.......I think for the rest of the day.......that's why you get there early........it's your best chance to sneak a peak.

I headed to Orosi Valley to check out the hot springs.
There were two places to swim in various pools at different temps
They were businesses and not natural hot springs.
But it only cost $3 to swim.
The problem for me was I arrived on a weekend and every kid within a 20 mile radius was there yelling and screaming. I didn't even bother.
I heard about some natural hot springs in the area along a river that I could hike to. It wasn't recommended because there was a chance of getting robbed.
    I went anyway.
I fund the hot springs and there were some locals there. It was ackward at first but I told them I was on a motorcycle trip around the world and that broke the ice. After that, they invited me back to their house to party with them.
I found CR to be not dangerous at all. The people seem very friendly

I didn't see Pavarotti there. But I did see a lot of hippies with dreadlocks. I even met this hippy guy traveling with this beautiful girl. He was getting dreadlocks woovened in to his hair. And he was paying to have it done. I thought........what a phony. Dreadlocks are something that has to be earned. And I don't understand why anyone would want them. My head itches if I don't wash my hair every night..
Anyway, they didn't have more than a few dollars to their names but she something in him that I will never understand

Let me know where you want to go
I know that area like the back of my hand.
I find them by exploring and stumbling upon them. No real secret. Just get out there and discover them for yourself

    Hi Kim
I am up to 80 pages now.
I've added a lot more animal pictures too
    Thanks for the kind words
It is nice to know that there are some gals here on this site.
But it is definitely a sausage fest here for sure.
I wonder if there are other girls out there lurking.
Who knows, maybe I will meet a girl on AdvRider.
    Stranger things have happened.
But it won't be any time soon as I will be on the road for a while.
Unless of course I meet them on the road:clap

    I feel for you Steve
    Been there
Maybe you need to go for a ride
It doesn't have to be around the world
But get on your bike and disappear for a while.
Come back when you have a plan and things sorted out in your head

    WOW!
    Those are some great stories!
I have met a lot of people traveling on the road together as a couple. And most of the time they met while traveling.
I guess it is possible that I could meet someone, but it would be unlikely because I usually don't stay in one place for very long. Definitely not enough time to build a relationship. But I do want to spend some time in Argentina and Chile doing some wine tasting. So if it is going to happen, then I will let the wine show me the way

I said at the beginning of my ride.......I am going to keep going until I lose the means and/or the desire to continue

I met a guy from England that was traveling on his bicycle for 3 years. He was finishing in 3 weeks. He said his dream ride had turned in to "work" and it had lost its charm.
    He was burnt out.
    It happens
And it will happen to me one day I am sure
And when it does, I will return home and figure it out then

I am borrowing this term from a fellow long term bike traveler
    He calls it.......Travel Zoo.
Where ever you go down here, you always have a at least one pair of eyes on you.
Some times a lot of eyes
People just stand there and stare.
And I can't get off my bike without a barrage of questions
    And the same questions too
    Where are you coming from
    How big is the motor
how much does the bike cost
    How fast does it go
    Etc
Plan on an extra ten minutes at every stop to answer these questions
It us ok sometimes but when I am in a hurry, it is annoying.
But I dont want to be rude.
And a lot of times it us nice to speak with someone that shows an interest in my travels
But it is the looks I get that gets old.
It is like I am an animal at the zoo.
    Everyone is looking
    What are they thinking
I know what I am thinking..........better get out of there before they are brave enough to start asking questions.
