ncbub.......say it aint so.....burnt pig butts....beer.....and bluegrass?????
I'm planning on being at Stecoah at least one day, but it'll be street only for a few more weeks at least ... I'll follow Scott at a sedate and leisurely pace on the assphault
I like Treet on yardbird ; George's BBQ sauce on sow if you don't have a good homemade mix. Man, I'm getting hungry...will try to make it. I'm just getting back in the saddle after hip surgery.
The first time my family ate NC "BBQ" we thought the meat had spoiled. :huh I have my sister ship in dry rub and sauce to every Christmas so we can now enjoy BBQ year round.
Maurices is very good BBQ. Every so often I take a hankering for the mustard base BBQ. Plus they have the best hushpuppies anywhere. Real cornmeal with onions!
Lookie here, we both ride blue V stroms and like Maurices hushpuppies...we gotta ride!
We're going to be staying at Lake Lure on the 8th, so we might just show up ... if we can find it!
Janet look forward to seeing you there.
As for the rest of you FF's, sorry I started a BBQ war. Next meeting will be at the Exxon Station for Combo's and M&M's.
well guess what?
I too will be staying at Lake Lure on the 8th (since I live there ).
If you want to follow me over the hill, let me know, otherwise I can provide easy directions ... will you have a bike?
or the mezican resturant in Lake Lure?
coooooold cerveza (ahh whatever ... cold beer)
Hell, it's all in fun (I hope) . I hear that besides liking eastern "BBQ" there are even folks out there that prefer Heinz 57 to A1. Can you imagine that? Also, I don't think you actually stated the war. I think it started about 100 years ago. Food Network actually has shows on the wars. The general concensus is KC and Memphis usually place first and second, Texas third and Carolina last. Of course, that is better than California or up North where BBQ is a verb. :dg
thanks for bringing this to my attention. I need to be in NJ on the 7th but have not made my travel arrangments yet. I will see what i can do to be back home in time to meet you guys. The thought had crossed my mind to do this as well. I guess i owe NCBub a beer toofor beating me to it.
AND BBQ!!! say no more. Had some Beef brisket form 18 bones today.
YAAHHHHH BUDDDDYYYY. damn near licked my forehead and elbows
Hey Mike we hope you can make it.
If ya'll gonna ride over from Lake Lure, hollar. I wouldn't mind meeting in Bat Cave and heading over Gerton with you
I will be ...
I'm out. I'll be up there earlier that week. But then I've got a doctor's appointment that'll force me back to GA.
Better yet...............let's plan a weekend to ride down to Columbia, SC and get some Maurices!
Isn't that a seasonal restaurant? I believe they are closed November through April. I could be wrong, though.
Lake Lure is on my list...they banned my Jet Ski.
Of course, we could always ride down World's Edge to get there to eat...so maybe that could be cool
