    OMG!!!

Just back from the painters....rolled down the lane of the industrial estate and there's something BLINDING to the far left.

Rollerdoor's open.... an extension table with parts outside...drying in the semi-shade...the WTF650 is IN PAINT, YEEHA!!

But fugg me dead.... this ain't for the feint-hearted [IMG][IMG][IMG]

It's gotta be rubbed down, another clearcoat, then the final buffing...(not that it needs it!!!)....then it's onto the black bits, which are still sitting there in primer.

Sat arvo latest...and this time it's a firm promise.

Can't wait to bolt it all up...

That's what I keep asking myself a dozen times an hour...
Can't wait to see it all come together.

Even made me get onto another bike that's been floating around for a while.
One of those little Chinese shitboxes, given to me by a mate "it's a basketcase, doesn't run... you want it?...or i'll bring it to the tip..."

All it took was a quick check, a new plug and plug-cap and it was a runner.

Looking at the rest of it I'm now asking myself, if it was even worth it spending the 8bux to get that far :lol3 :lol3

Leaking tubes, shot head bearings and forkseals, the chain is a rusted heap....

    ahhhh...desperation :D :D

Steve called at 5 with the good news that all the .....(shit, nearly blabbed out the colour:doh:)....panels are DONE.... all the dark ones are also finished bar the final rub-down tomorrow morning.

Pickup lunchtime.....and a PURRRFECT (rainy) weekend ahead :1drink to grab some coldies and lock myself into the garage :eek1

First pics tomorrow night then :clap

Gotta get this thing finished, looks like I've just stumbled onto the next project bike :lol3

Yeah, well....despite promising some pics last night (soooorry, everyone [IMG][IMG] it just didn't work out.

It got a wee bit busy, with folks dropping in "just for a quick peek, aye?"
    :bs:bs

In truth....the place was like the local bordello offering $2 specials!!:lol3 :lol3

Btw...thanks to all who came along (sorry Dave...next time, just ride the GS through the rollerdoor [IMG][IMG]
If the final drive shits itself in the process...doesn't matter, I'll convert it to something reliable for ya, just leave the Beemer here for repairs, eh?[IMG][IMG][IMG]

Let's take it from the start then...

All ready to go...took the pressure gun over the top for a final wash-down, blowing the dust and filing out of the nook and crannies, the odd 6mm Nyloc and some wayward washers and other small bits also re-emerged.

Melbourne gets the best rain in 3 years, it's pelting down hard...the corrugated iron roof at Steve's factory prevents any half-civil conversation...we just stop yelling after a while and just at the job he's come up with.
    [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

Couldn't wait to cart it home...

Due to the overcast day, neon-lights and a camera that insisted on using the flash, some of the shots didn't turn out too well.
Those without the flash used show the paint job best.

Last thing last night...sticking the previously prepared/ painted alum-mesh behind the tail-piece cutouts with small dobs of "Knead-it", a kneadable epoxy, because the stuff doesn't run and bugger up the paint again

2 trips to the servo around the corner, filling the 10l plastic canister to the brim each time.
20l in a 22l tank is close enough to a full tank, together with all oils/fluids etc. it makes for a decent weigh-in to find out the REAL/WET/Kerb weight...not what the factory or other sources claim.

Extras included are: (as they'll stay on the bike permanently!)
    a) Plastic bash-plate
    b) Heated grips
    c) 12V Ciggie socket with wiring
    d) Fork brace, qite a "hefty" item

What's missing from completion/ final weight?
    a) The screen....which will come in at ~200gr / under 0.5lbs

Pinched mum's cherished "Soehle" scales (and fugged them in the process....well, there's a Chrissie-prezzie [IMG][IMG]

Timber block made for the other wheel, exact height of the scales....just to balance things.
    Front first

Then the rear, swapping scales and timber

    [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

    yeeeeeeeehhaaaaaaaaaaaa !!!!!!!!!!!

    That's Front 84kg, Rear 87kg....Total 171kg WET!!!!
In the old money: 377lbs, wet, ride-away weight.
(well, missing 2l petrol and the screen!!! )

Stacks up pretty damn well compared to the 186kg DRY quoted by Suzuki for the Wee-Strom [IMG][IMG]

And there's a further 2.5kg net (~5.5lbs) to be dropped by the planned single-disc conversion (using a GSXR750 caliper)....

Oh man....it was worth it !!
    One happy chappy

Sure is mate...Candy lime green metallic, Kawasaki N8 (before someone asks:D ), see Kwaka Versys.
We dropped the Candy tint, but chucked in a bit more xirallic... which is the stuff that gives it that light/ dark transition effect.
