Good riding gear is my very good friend.
Unfortunately, my friend has had to prove his worth, twice.
Fortunately, he's still my friend, because he was there for me when I needed him most.
Good gear is "cheap", when compared to a Dr. Visits. Also found that comfortable gear gets worn.

It's also good to ride on manicured asphalt with putting green quality runouts on the corners.
When I first started riding, ATGATT was a pair of sunglasses.
Gear has since evolved, and so have my habits. And, I do have to admit that tumbling down a trail is much less painful than it used to be.
