Is this place open to the public on a regular basis? Can't make it tomorrow but would like to check it out sometime. Any affiliation with the old yadkinville gncc course?

Had lots of fun yesterday, tons of trails and an mx track. Unfortunately it rained 2 days before so it was muddy. I should be heading back out there in the next few weeks. The trails have something to offer everyone from beginner to expert the only thing is they are not marked as beginner or expertso you can easily get in over your head.:D

Are the trails marked/arrowed? One way?

Some are marked, some are just trails that look like a atv just cut thru the woods. We hit some marked trails and then just went exploring.

Mainly concerned about encountering head on traffic on two way trails. Pretty much my one deal breaker for riding in the woods.

Stay on the main trail and you'll be good, on the others I didn't encounter any two way traffic. The thing is all trails start at the beginning towards the front of the main dirt road and end towards the back of the main road. Two of the trails were clearly marked and arrowed.

Agreed, definite deal breaker if trails aren't one way, especially if there's any higher speed sections. They'll wish they had after an injury or two!

These trails are far too technical to get much speed on, but I can understand your concern. I started a facebook group for the Winston-Salem guys and those in the surrounding to get together and do group rides off road and hopefully some dualsport rides. https://www.facebook.com/groups/Hooliganoffroad/

Cool, it's gonna be cold and muddy this weekend so I don't think we'll be doing anything, but who knows some of these guys are real hooligans!

My youngest son and I headed up Friday afternoon for the 1st time, it was 60 degrees about 2pm.:clap
It was a little slick but there's some good trails there.

That crossing is about 1000 yards from the parking area. :D When I saw some of the more technical spots, I was wishing I was riding my sons much lighter 250!

I'll let you know next time, I've got to either wait for dry weather or get rid of the deathwings cause in the slightest bit of mud or dampness the front wants to washout and low side or if I slow down it'll bog down and sink in the mud. I've heard there are some trails or at least dirt roads off of the BRP North of Pipers Gap Rd. May do some exploring there or that secret 13 creek crossing :eek1 road you told me about.
