So as many of you know following this thread Adrian has been traversing North America and covered a huge amount of miles so far.

To recap, when he first got here the bike was a couple days late so I put up with him...I mean put him up for a few days so he could get the bike, parts and other crap in order to get started on his trip.

One of the more important parts he has is the metal pallet on which the bike was shipped. Since he needed a place to store if while on his trip I stuck it on the side of the house for the last few months.

Well with his travels coming to a close I decided to pull it out and make sure it was not damaged etc from sitting outside like it was. Turned out there was some surface rust so I took it upon myself to spruce it up a bit and give it a once over.

Grabbed a couple cans of rust converter and paint to make it look decent, since I cant do anything about making the rider look better (they wont let you board a plane with a burlap sack on your head) I could at least make the crate look decent.

So this was the after picture when it was all painted.

Of course I thought he would get a kick out of it and sent him the picture you see above...

    And then it started.....

He began to whine about the color I guess he finally wore out his last pair of Hello Kitty panties and was suffering from remorse...

He was sad it didn't have any bright colors in it...

    Challenge accepted..

Spent a little more time giving it the touch of color that his inner whiner was in such need/desire for....

So Chop Chop and Sean-O do these colors suit him?

I think you might need to take a pole of this with the other riders from his group to get a consensus if I need to add another color let me know.

The could not bring myself to get his much desired Hello Kitty stickers so he will just have to cry himself to sleep over that one...

The color of that crate resembles someone who clearly has way too much time on his hands.

The upside I guess it can't be confused with any other bike being shipped at the same Tim.

I'll deduct that out of your invoice for restraightening the bend in the crate.

    update 16th oct 2013

Wow what a whirlwind the last couple of weeks has been.

I left Robs place (The Irish Guy who speaks Canadian), i apreciated your hospitality immensly, thanks for the use of your super duper bike lift & tools when my old girl needed some new blood. Certainly made the effort easy. I wish you well in your new house once its sorted out etc.

From Robs place in Edmonton, after we tagged along for the local toy run, i made my way east. Whilst riding along i began to do some rough calcs in my head with regards to fuel costs in Canada. The result saw me head into the usa. Generally most things are expensive in Canada, not unlike Australia in many ways. In fact Australia is probably about 10 to 20 % more expensive on things in generalon, but our wages probably counteract that to some degree.

I stayed at a rv park in grand forks but was rudely awoken at 7am and informed that i "could" pay at the office on my way out. I took their wording literally, too bad i went cross country & just couldnt seem to find that office they were talking about.

i made tracks through Minesota, through Miniappolisv and La Crosse. I pmed a bloke about a tent space from La Crosse but sadly got no reply. I have found on the odd occasion that inmates listed on the tent space thread couldnt be bothered replying to PMs, even though they are noticeably active on the site. Piss poor really, it only takes a couple of seconds to type out sorry mate dont like australians go somewhere else for your tent space.

Sending Craig and email from CJDesigns saw me heading towards Wisconsin to get some new fork seals fitted after the ice had cut them to bits. A lcal shop close by had the gear & i quickly had new seals & fork oil.

As I seem to recall you dropped off that delapidated piece of crap, and your crate in that condition.

This coming from the person with the half assed electrical work on the bike and can pass anything while riding but sheep...

What a love story you two are enjoying ... :rofl

Great report, enough to make me wonder if I should buy an SE after my beloved 640. They seem to breakdown at a similar pace. :D
    Thanks for sharing.
If you ever come to NW Spain let me know!

Its a good thing that Dave (DSM8) is a good bloke I'll let the last dig slip through to the keeper.

Meeting Craig from cjdeisgns was pretty inspirational for me, but also costly as a new rear tyre was needed and of course some bling.
When we fitted the bling i noticed that the clutch jet was blocked, but the new one from Craig fixed the problem on the spot.

Plus three little kittens which were fun to play with.

I departed CJs place late morning and headed to my dear friend William's house in Oklahoma. The trip was pretty much done in one hit & I breezed into his house not far off midnight after he had to come and give me a JumpStart from a near by carpark. Six or so hours in the dark with everything electrical going full blast saw the battery drop too low to start it after I stopped for a GPS check.

I stayed at bills place for a week, it was great to catch up with him and his lovely family after 20 years. A few beers later we discovered that neither of has changed in 20 years one bit.

I was treated to a tour of aeronautical training establishment where he was doing his courses.

Leaving Oklahoma was quite sad for me but I was happy to know that my mate Bill had scored a lovely wife and ready made family.

I saw Hodgo was in New Mexico, so I called him to say he could stop back by my house in San Diego and stay a few days again, like he did at the start of his trip...so this past Friday, he rolled up around 8pm after a long day of riding from Arizona.

My boy Cody remembered him and greeted him....of course, Hodgo is a dog lover.

Saturday, I went to volunteer with the local Therapy Dog group to help out with testing for new Therapy Dogs....Hodgo said he'd like to go, so he joined me. Then we went to a good friends BBQ and Hodgo met a few more of my close riding buddies and friends.

Sunday, it was time for Hodgo to say Goodbye :wave.
We went for Breakfast at the Offshore Tavern, where the San Diego Antique Motorcycle Club and the Airheads BMW Club was meeting for a quick ride, so again he got to meet a bunch of my good friends. Then Hodgo had to start making his way up to LA to depart for home, so this was his LAST day of riding his 950 SE for about 4 months before his bike arrives home by boat.
