yes this is a good suggestion!
Or just get a Mac and be happy for life
If you're done scanning with those but still not confident you've got everything, grab a copy of Hijack This! and give it a run. It will show EVERYTHING that is running when you scan the system and let you see things that other utilities often miss. It's a manual tool though, not an automatic cleaner, and you have to compare the list of running processes to known files and file locations.
Yeah I usually leave hijack this as the last suggestion for non IT people as it takes some IT nous to read the report!
I run antivirus and anti malware on all my MACS and win doze machines it gives me the shits!!
Linux not so much!!
fucking windows gives me shits. spent more time looking after what it wanted than doing what i wanted. been apple now for 18 months. sanity slowly returning. bill gates should be fucking shot for inventing that
Bill sold out years ago but yes they are annoying
I really like my apple as we have 2 at home I run vm fusion and a few vms so that I can still do some of the stuff I can't do in Mac land. I also have a couple of Linux machines running as well in the virtual machines but I think this will all stop when my home nas arrives as it will be running a Linux kernel and I can play all I like

I find it handy to get them to run it and post the report. I know they won't understand it but it means IT folk have the information available to check what's going on without having to talk them through opening up their router and system for remote access so you can do it yourself ... which does have advantages and enhances your "geek god" cred when they see the cursor moving on it's own.
Yeah, Linux is safER than the others (not perfect, nothing will millions of lines of code ever is), but it's a trade-off. More nous required to get the most out of it but more flexible if you know what you're doing. The few times I absolutely MUST do something in MS land, which isn't often, I use a VM ... which has antivirus installed since I trust it SO much.
Changing a little bit the topic, I'm looking for friends. Just like that. Yes, sounds pathetic, but after almost 4 years here in Brisbane and a more that a few attempts to trying to make friends specially with some of my wife's co-workers, I'm just give up!. No offence, but I can't pretend I care about the current market, or what's happening with that or this...
I'm not an antisocial person, like my wife try to suggest some times, I just want to find people who have motorcycles and ride them!.(not to show them to their "friends" with a beer in your hand on a tour for your garage).
Anyway, I'm quite bored to make the same solo trips around Samford or Mount Nebo area, Happy to meet some of you guys any weekend!.
Next time i am heading out for a run.. you are welcome to come along
. if you can put up with a grey haired old fart!
ah dude...that's gold
Locked in Happy Snapper!. Just send me a PM
Organize a Brisbane Beer Night as a get together for the ADVRider inmates from your area. It's the best way to meet new friends and organize rides from there.
Well I have been meaning to try and organize something, I started collecting older Dakar DVDs a few years ago in the hope of starting a few Dakar watching nights back home in Townsville.
Suppose I should get of my arse and see if there is any interest down here...
Just need somewhere to watch them, maybe a pub that we could take over a projector or something.
