    Morning,

I am heading to Oz to meet up with my Brother in a couple of months and we are in the planning stages.

We are obviously going to head to Fraser Island at some stage and have been talking about hiring a 4x4, however, I wondered if there are any dirtbike hirers that cater for Fraser Island?

The plan for the whole trip is to run up and down the east coast for a few thousand K's just taking in the wonderful Australian summer so I am also open to other possibilities for sites/places to hire and ride a bike if anyone has any to share/recommend?

    Thanks guys

No idea on hire options sorry, but if you want to work a week or so of riding into your trip & don't want to stray too far from the east coast, consider hiring something in Sydney (must be something there) & heading south through the hills. We followed a bunch of backroads down through the Blue Mountains, Snowy Mountains, Victorian high country etc a few years back & had a ball, a great mix of on & offroad riding, scenic campsites, aussie wildlife... good fun.

Remember that Northern & outback areas start to get quite hot over summer & less suited to riding adventures.

    Cheers

Good to know, thank you. Right now we have a camper booked and a few stops planned up the coast. If time allows I'll be grabbing a bike somewhere if I can!

    Thanks for the links.

Sadly I won't have the time to get across to Tasmania or many other places I'd like to visit.

I am now trying to find places to stay/see along the route from Cape Trib down to Sydney over about 4 or 5 days so any suggestions are welcome there too!: )

That's about 2500k's via the shortest, most boring route. All of it at a severely speed-limited + controlled 60mph, regardless what type of road you pick.
You're in an almighty rush there...for that stretch in that time I'd grab a car instead and maybe see a bit of the place along the way....on a bike, it's a commute.

I know it's a little crammed in but I only have a small window of time to get back down to Sydney as that's where I am meeting my Brother for Christmas. That section will be happening in a campervan so at least I'll have music and company along the way:)

Besides, 500k per day average is easy enough
