It is being relocated a bit down the taxiway, past the hangars. New, larger tanks for Av and JetA will be part of the relo. The old pumps and island are going to be removed. This should be completed some time in 2013.

Yes, I am a pussy when it comes to cold. It was probably in the 30s up there. This morning when I got in the car to come to work it was 27 degrees. I hate it when that happens.

Holy cow, I had to take a picture of this morning's sunrise! I just wish I would have had more than a crappy cell phone camera, it doesn't do any justice to the intensity and clarity of the colors.

Dude, I don't know what your angle is, but that's clearly photoshopped.

I can tell by the pixels, and I've seen a few 'shops in my day.

What tipped me off was I went to google maps and it doesn't look anything like that. :D

I'm with you. I need to dig around and find a pic I took of a Lear 24 on a low approach to the Maize KS airport (grass) from the centerline just before I ducked...at a QB meeting. As close as I ever came to shitting myself...:D

I tried to post this a while back, but didn't have smugmeg then so it didn't work. So now the story. I pulled into SanJuan,P.R. and parked on the ramp was this old DC-4. There are not many still flying. As I taxied past it I noticed the N# was an old Western Airlines # N406WA.. So I got pix of it and looked up the registration and got some history on it. So here goes. This DC4 was delivered to the Army air corp as a C-54 during the war. It was originally slated to go to Western Airlines. It flew in the Army until after the war and was deliverd to WAL after the war where it flew for a couple years. It was returned to the army for the Berlin Airlift. flew there and then returned to WAL where it flew until the late 50's. Was sold to PSA and ultimately ANA, then parked in the desert in the late 60's. It then became a fire bomber, then freighter etc. So now the rest of the story. My Dad flew that airplane for several years at WAL. The first lead man that I worked for as a mechanic at the original Frontier Airlines was a guy nicknamed "Cabby". Short for his real name. He and my dad were fishing and riding ( Dad had an old Indian, stripped down for dirt, they made thier own knobbies back then) buddies when they both worked for WAL. Cabby left WAL and went back in the army and was a crew chief @ the Berlin Arilift, on that airplane. After the Berlin Airlift Cabby went to work for the original Frontier arilines that was merged into Continental in 1986. Both my Dad and Cabby have flown thier last flight west. But this old DC-4 still works for a living.
