Maybe a little of both ideas would work too. Start across the road until we feel like trying some stuff on trails?

That sounds fine. We can always split into separate groups as well.
If there are riders who genuinely want to learn/practice basic skills on basic terrain I'm more than willing to help get them started before we hit the trail.

Impressive! I'm gonna rub a few locals noses in this fact when they moan "too early", "too far".

I've always been amazed at folks in & around Phoenix that piss & moan about that's too far, too early, too much traffic yada yada yada---
Being originally from the flatganastan it was normal too drive 150 or 200 miles for a basketball game & think nothing of it. then when I moved to Aridzona I thought I'd died & gone to heaven---A drivers paradise, everything laid out in mile square grids , interstates & state routes intersecting everything & taking me anywhere I needed to be within 30 minutes, North to South, East to West, all it takes is some planning. Even now at 71 I still love driving in Phoenix, & although I now do so at a speed more expectable to the DPS I get too where I need to be safe, sound & on time.
So why don't you FFS quityourbitchin, you live in a town that grew up with the car & is still growing & has been built accordingly, what a fantastic place too be.

Yeah fuck that. I'm not gonna live by anyone else's standards but my own.

Hope you guys had a good day. Wish I could have joined but it was too far and too early.

Great day today, and there should be some great pictures that Nightstalker took. Rattlecan was on the fat tire mountain bike and was hauliing ass downhill.........

We need to have a few more of these days soon. Julio, we didn't start riding until probably 9:15-9:30, we were waiting for you and your son.......:D

So, now you are saying that Phoenix is a "fantastic" place to be? Just recently, ~2 months ago you were doing your own bitching about the place and the food........make up your mind.

    He's old. Be kind.

As I got in my truck to leave this morning, I noticed that it was broken into last night. A neighbor's car was also hit. She lost her purse in the event. They found her wallet one street over. Anything worth taking was not there any more. They made a mess of my truck, but got nothing, because I leave nothing of value in it. Anyway, I didn't make it due to the bullshit. And I'm actually glad I didn't. After talking with Rattlecan, I would have been fucked. If I did manage to find you guys, you would have been off in BFE and I'd be left humping 30 pounds of camera gear in and out.

Great day, thanks for the ride folks. Managed to execute a maneuver that has eluded me my entire riding career... Hopefully there is a good pic :). Special thanks to Rattlecan for hauling me up the hill with his fat tire bike, not sure if I could have made it without your pedal power!

Sorry about your truck Scott. It would have been hard to find us out there for sure. Actually we couldn't even find us. Nightstalker and I got separated twice. The second time I thought I might be spending the night out there, until he found me. Great fun out there today. I was Soooo glad I only had 29lbs to haul over those rocks!

My pleasure Jeff. Can't wait to see the pics of your maneuver.

That was fun! We should definitely do more of that kind of riding!

I caught a picture of the tow after Verboten's maneuver. There's evidence of said maneuver in the picture, but I won't give it away. You can sleuth it out or wait for the pictures from Nightstalker's camera.
