Anyone interested in hitting the trail this Wednesday? I've got the day off.
Interested but unfortunately working...
Same here, interested but working. I need a job that will keep me in town. This traveling is not very fun......
Yardstick ended up babysitting me at Sycamore today Big thanks for showing me around and being patient as I fumbled along the trail. We got a full 1/2 day in on some of that nice beginner/intermediate single track. So nice out there today even with the heat. Palo Verdes and cacti are blooming. One other rider out there, otherwise we owned the place. I'm looking forward to returning sometime soon to keep developing the skill set if people are early risers. I'm slow, but determined. Once I start treating my dirtbike like I ride my mountain bike, things will be much better.
I was shooting video, so maybe Yardstick will post some pics.
I'll post a few...
Here's the forbidden one just after forcing 22 psi of air into the new trials tire. :huh
We didn't find out how much pressure was in there until after the ride. We started out on Paintball trail.
There was a slight haze in the air. It looked like smoke. Not from our 4-strokes, though!
Toward the end of Paintball.
Then we took a little piece trail I have been using to stay clear of traffic in the wash.
It connects to Pickaxe trail, but we didn't tackle that one!

Holy oversteer batman!
The 500 is overkill for these trails, but I like it!
One more climb and then...
DOWN! :eek1 Another heavy rain or two and this thing is going to be really treacherous.
The wash bypass adds a mile to the ride, ending up here. It's a fun mile!
We took some 2-track...
To get on Sycamore Springs trail.
Sycamore Springs is almost too fun for pictures.
It's a rollercoaster from beginning to end. Or maybe it's better described as a slot-car track. Just give in and ride the rut!
Lots of fun trail in those hills.
And lots of interesting rock formations.
This place is full of neat stuff to look at...
If you can look up from the trail once in a while.
Verboten coming up a rock face...
He made it over and then started the wild wobbles. I thought he would recover, but the bike needed a nap.
We were doing some scouting for a special project so we returned on wider trails. Some people were in this wash with a really long tape measure and a bunch of little flags.
It was a good day in the desert. One of the more tolerable we will have for a while. Next time we'll shoot for more miles and less pressure in the tires.
You got a new bike Allen?
