Caitlin and I are thinking heading towards Baja at the end of January, and of now we don't have an exact return date . We are setting 3 +isch weeks aside for riding Baja .

Not sure when we're going yet, but going we are. Will coordinate rideshare again to Calexico probably, although Tecaté looks nice too...

I'm tentatively riding to Argentina (leaving in January pending sale of a vehicle). It would be cool to line up and ride as far as you are going with you guys before continuing south.

No Pemex until Vizcaino. Possible gas from cans at SF, nice beach there. But the place got beat by hurricane a few seasons ago, not much rebuild so far as I know. Usually sandy on the decent to SF, careful with the front end. Possible 2-track dirt runs south from El Arco to hwy 1 north of Vizcaino.

    Consider staying here...

Good place, only place for miles around. They will have a lot more local knowledge than I do. Or bomb through to San Ignacio.

Best part is you get to go through El Arco. You'll know what I mean when you get there! Be sure and take pics.

    Search bajanomads for more info...

The group from Bay Area Riders Forum have done the BoLA > SF > Mulege each of the last 3 years and it has been pretty easy.
They have gas in jugs at SF.
I went in 2015 and the place was OK for camping at the beach but the hurricane did do some damage

Yeah it needs new tires for sure! It's been running OK, not great, but enough to ride... when I brought it home, it had a lot of stuff that was totally screwball, so I have fixed a lot of things, and it still needs more... (that oil leak, was a fractured crank case, I used JB weld to try and patch it, but it only slowed the leak) :bluduh ...... but, its a fun bike to ride, and pretty comfortable too. :ricky I think I will do a tear-down and rebuild before a Baja trip though- just to be sure everything is good with it

Oh cool. If those 1200 GS's were ok, your 950 should be able to handle it too. :lol3

    Not a thing.

Googled "johnny drunkard", but all I get is trash hits about Johnny Depp.

My guess is he is trying to find a battery or some other obscure electrical part for his bike in a 1st or 3rd world country.
