I'm so sorry I'm here,,,,,and not there!
So...... Since we came home from Baja this March Caitlin and I only took three weekends of till now. One for the southern Oregon campout, one for the Mosko Moto Unrally and one over night stay in Brookings. We are ready to blow off some steam!!!! We are planning to leave this weekend for three weeks of Baja!!! Yeah!!
Is this a busy season?
I saw that you had liked a status on their FB page and wondered how you knew them. Very cool!
I’m in Mulegé now. I missed Al by mere hours.
I didn’t come home empty handed either.
I’m sorry you’re not here too.
Hey, glad to see you're headed north, too bad we missed you; try again later if you and your better half can!
Good taste in beer there, we had couple in LTO today. Back in PDX.
We were in San Juanico catching the race. Saw that little VW come through as the locals were finally slowing down the party. The whole town, 300 people were camped out and partying for 3 days. Good times. My wife has now caught the Baja bug. That can only be a good thing for me!
Sounds like a fun spot. Any pics of the road out there?
Hans'n'Cait!,,(that's one word) post up pics of your progress if you get near a interweb connect. I was thinking about you saying you were leaving this weekend,,curse you for leaving me behind, three weeks ain't long enuff,, and have lots of fun! it's only the first thousand miles that suck, then you're good to go!
3 weeks,,shit!,,you'll be back in time for winter!
Leaving on Jan 12th!
For how long?
next Dr. visit on the 11th, next week. Hope I get some good news, (although I do not expect to hear anything right away, more tests) I wanna go BAJA NOW!,,it is frikken cold in my shop even with a fire raging in the stove,,won't be long before pipes freeze and all that hated winter stuff. Looked at road cams today,,some snow and ice on Siskyou pass. In another week or two it may be coastal only,,
The old gent I bought the shop from told me one time, "when it gets to be 103 in the shop, you close up and get the heck out!",, I added to that when I told him,,"yes, and likewise when the dog's water freezes!"
Back at work on the 24th
I read a news article that said the fishermen were protesting in San Felipe, and had blocked roads.
this was due to the arrest of a fish union leader, and today I read that they have released him, but trouble still in the area.
The story I got is they've fished out the area to the point of no return. They are being watched by satellite. It's a difficult situation, no doubt.
The Narcos are dealing in Totoaba swim bladders to the Asians. The giant fish is endangered and the catch is illegal, if they are caught with the fish on board they go to jail, so the bandits remove the swim bladders and toss the fish to the briny deep.
Sea Shepherd group has two ships in the area and awaiting a third ship to join in. Coast guard and marine fisheries patrol boats are active 24/7. The union guy that the protests were about was implicated in the illegal fishing, but may be falsely accused, hence the protests.
Also, as you mention, new regs with regards to nets and hours open to fishing.
As long as they don't muck up the shrimp harvesting I'm happy,,,Mmmm, camerones!
19.1 to 1 exchange today.
MRI 12-21-17,,'the exchange rate is swinging upward again,,good for us.
