Great thread fellas.....
pretty sure we can get your lifeguard hat fitted to the top of your helmet for the next trip.
I just had to bail on a trip because of work. This thread is a perfect way to keep reminding me that I have to get back down there.
Just find a place near Cabo to leave it and fly down later and ride it back
LOL 1 year later
Or I fly down and ride it back for you No crazy stuff just easy cruising all the way back
I'm up for this, when is Pres weekend? I don't really need a guide, have been to Baja about 100 times (mostly surfing) in the last 50 years, but it would be fun to go with a small group
Back in the day I rode my beat up vespa down to baja.
I had some camping gear and pretty much zero clue.
Amazing trip and you see a lot more putting along at 35 mph.
After getting back, I was hooked and needed to find a faster more suitable bike.
That's how I found advrider.com and the benefits of BMW whale foreskins. . .
Got to get down there again soon
Your not going to do anything that I have not done 10 times over... If you want to talk about this email me
do you have a buddy that can ride cain's bike ?
Countdown for the 1K is in the early stages. Will be here before we know it.
Big bike ride?
That's what I'm riding
yep- pre-running out of Tecate with some friends tomorrow
good eats...last time we crossed back thru tecate, we had dinner in jamul at this restaurant. it was very good just like the one in little italy in downtown san diego

haven't had experience leaving a truck at the tecate border crossing (stateside), and so far everyone i know had no issues getting broken in or stolen. anyone had differently?
This is awesome.
yep- great place and long history of italian eats in the SD area. We leave our trucks at a pay lot on the right side of the road just before the crossing- and across from the min-mart . Have not had any issues.
Used to stage from Rancho Veronica - but had a few issues there and its so much easier coming home. Just to ride to the front of the line.
Sunday looks to be practice day for Baja 1K pit service. My email message said "will be practicing fuel dumps, tire changes, air filter changes and truck load/unload."
I'm guessing that I'll get tasked with a lot of the lifting tasks
It's getting closer! Do you know which race mile you'll be at come race day?
also get our pit assignments on Sunday ... will let you know
