Wait - transmissions need fluid? I guess we might have another expensive repair coming up...
Patiently waiting to hear what's next.
Just a hint?
Are you saying:
No real details yet, other than the day after the day after tomorrow we're getting back on the road heading west.
Probably a let down if you were hoping for something exciting.
I'll let you know how the hand pulled ATF comes out - maybe that will be more exciting.
That Tom Petty song brings back all the insistent impatience of youth!
Good luck with the sugar calisthenics & western travels!
I'd say 15% success this time, which is an exponential increase over last time. (Wait - zero to the power of...shit - still zero; oh never mind: the point is we did a LOT better.)
I'll post more about our planned westward route soon, and I'm compiling some trip stats to post as we're officially a year into this thing now.
I'm curious how far west you'll be going. Back here again?

No plans to return to Portland - other than to visit - but Jeremiah has three grandparents in Olympia he hasn't seen since February, so planning to go at least that far west.
Exploring some options for the new year (figure it will take us at least most of this month to reach Olympia), but one is hanging out in WA so the little guy can go to "real" school for at least a semester.
I found this thread on PAGE 3 of trip reports ????????
Are you guys still alive?
There's such a huge gap in our timeline I think I hear an echo ....
Check back mañana and I think you'll find something. And if not, then probably the answer to your question is, no.
My wife and I almost got through the Runnin' Down the Dream Doc on Netflix when Tom passed.
The doc is nearly three hours long and was done very well.
Tom was so gifted and seemed to have had a tireless work ethic.
Tough to see him check out mid stride.
When scrolling though the pics, I implore you to make the "shutter sound" in your head (getting this stuck in your head is optional).
Going West young man?
And since our two six-month trip journals are now full, we might as well keep track here - maybe we can call it a format shift. So, to start:
Starting mileage for 10/12/17 - 109,637
Heading/destination: west on US 20 to Erie, PA
First stop, USPS to ship a big old box of books to our storage unit. Soooo many books.
First stop, Cazenovia NY. Cute town, has a university right downtown, looks like the kind of place that could use a little ... oh, there it is. Oh well - might as well stop in for cocoa.
This sign probably settles a long standing debate in our family.
I love US 20 and plan to be on it in the spring.
Makes complete sense to me. I like her thinking! Save travels you kids, keep us up to date so Nancy doesn't have to worry about you.
Goes all the way to Newport, Oregon - there are certainly worse places one could end up.
Yes and I'll be on the old 50 for a while through the prairies as well and any others I can find that don't start with I . . .
Cupcakes are muffins in disguise...
That logic opens up so many good paths in life!
Safe travels you kids
