We just missed you out there today. Scrambling through laurel and greenbrier has me feeling like I've tangled with several cats.

    Glad you missed the rain.

This weekend I spent Sat getting the bike ready to ride out to South Dakota to visit the MAFFS 7 memorial and play around the Black Hills a little bit. On a shakedown run late Sat afternoon I had a chance meeting with local inmate StarWolve while gassing up at a truck stop, no pics.

Later that night I seen that Wheedle made a post that he was camped at BRMC and had cords showing through his rear tire. :doh

I had just taken off a tire that still had some life in it so I could start the long trip with fresh rubber so I volunteered to ride my old tire up to him Sunday morning. I was planning to do a daytrip anyway as a final shakedown run before changing the oil.

Not many pics as my rain dodging luck ran out....also forgot to document the actual tire change. :lol3 Oh well, here's the aftermath...

Wheedle getting geared up for the ride back down to Georgia.

There was a BMW K-bike event at BRMC over the weekend and as an extra treat rmarkr and his lovely wife were still there hanging around for another day so I got to have a chat with him as well. :thumb

I'll post up more info on the MAFFS 7 memorial along with a spotwalla link later this week before I go.

I'm planning to ride out to the MAFFS 7 memorial this weekend.

MAFFS stands for Modular Airborne Fire Fighting System (IIRC or something very similar)

It's what the Air National Guard is able to fit to a number of their C-130s so they can lend a hand when all other resources are being utilized.

Last summer on July 1st 2012 MAFFS 7 crashed in the Black Hills of South Dakota killing 4 of the crew, including my friend Robbie Cannon who was the Flight Engineer and a Sr. Msgt.

Although I had never met Pilot Joe McCormick I would soon realize that he was married to the daughter of an old friend.

I'll be meeting Happy Riding in Custer, SD on Monday evening and accompanying her to deliver donations for the maint. of the memorial that were collected at BYOB, that will be done on Tue. :clap

I don't remember ever seeing Robbie without a smile.

I'm going to post a stalker link but will try and be a good guest and not pinpoint anybody's home.....will just click the OK message out on the edge of the greater metro area(s). :D

p.s. that won't show anything until I get on the road Saturday....

The route should look something like this http://goo.gl/maps/BS2Od
