That looks like a bigum....
I would watch your toes in that water...
Fueled up the old boat this afternoon and took it down to the Broad river....
Scouted a rail access that didn't look like it had too much train traffic.
Stymied by 'the man'
So I rode down to a spillway.....
Water was down from recent levels....
Nice day for fishing..if that's your thing.
...interesting use of plywood....
...off to the boat ramp @ big bay next....
...it's not really very big.
Old habits die hard it seems.
Doesn't look like there's much progress on this restoration since the last time I rode by. :huh
The new bridge is in service at Burnt Mills...doesn't have as much charm as the old on though.
Leaving there I encountered a group of cruisers with a man down. Paramedics were on the way, I sure hope he's going to be OK.
This parathingy just flew past my backyard a few minutes ago at sunset....crappy short phone video.

Phil has his own fishing and boating area? Who knew?
Made it up to Del Rio, TN for KLRWorld's annual Tour De Pisgah. Arrived at camp about 11 AM Friday and everybody was out riding, didn't bother setting up camp just unloaded the old DR and geared up and hit the road.
Just as I was pulling out 3 dualsports rolled past and I thought they may be part of the group so I chatted them up at the stop sign, turns out they weren't aware of the TDP but called themselves the 'Eastern Tennessee ADVriders' and invited me to ride with them.
First up was Bug Branch.....a quick stop at the turn off to turn on their GoPros.
I don't know their screen names but have already friended them on facebook.
A quick pause to make sure everybody is OK.
The KLR & KTM riders were a couple of retired guys that were still gettin' it out in the woods! and the DR rider was about the same age as me.....
We didn't check out this off shoot but it looked like it could be fun!
Here's a video taken by the guy following me across Bug Branch.

If you find yourself down in 'the maze' between Del Rio and Hartford, TN let me recommend stopping in at Black's Market and Deli. You can get a big ol BBQ sammich there for a mere $2.50
Ask the nice lady if you can see some of the photos she takes of the area.
I suck at people pics.
Would you go out into the woods with this crew?
You can get your chance at the Nottarally in two weeks.
After lunch we headed out Grassy Fork towards Snowbird......
The KLR got sleepy and needed several siestas.
There must have been 5 or 6 GoPros between the 3 of them...
I can see the benefit as I didn't have any luck with my manual style 'on the fly' shooting in the woods.
I love this stuff.......but don't ride it near as often as I'd like to.
Back into 'the maze'......
Riding tip #205 'when you stop, put your kickstand down before leaning the bike over'
Oh yeah...here we go again!
Look real close.....there's a KLR down (again) just almost out of sight. It was 'steeper than it looks' and we didn't know if we could either get past or stop without tipping over ourselves.
Check this out....they made a blooper reel too!

Saturday it rained...a lot but camp was high and dry.
I loaded the bike up pre-emptively not knowing if there'd be another chance to ride or not...but there was.
Yep...lets get geared up...it's gonna quit any minute.
Oh yeah....only 3 of us stayed and waited it out! :huh
