Yep, that's actually the shortcut over Tellico Gap too...nice gravel that crosses the AT. (don't trust google's street names)

p.s. another thing you can do is take Needmore along the river...scenic fast gravel but not as fun as the twisties on 28 IMO.

Friday was a beautiful sunny and mild day with the exception of being cool and cloudy atop the Cherohala Skyway, Saturday not so much....cool and cloudy all day with a few light sprinkles thrown in. Two great days for riding and two great rides none the less! :ricky

I already posted my Friday route back a few posts...here's what I ended up riding on Sat, spot had a hard time keeping up. :norton

The reason the tracks go to Mill Spring is for ethanol-free gas for the pig's old carbs. I took the lower speed southern route through Chesnee on Friday morning in hopes of a warmer early (for me) morning ride.

I was happy with that choice. :D

    Still green down low......

But hills and colored leaves seem to appear about the same time. :deal

Still pretty green in the lower elevations though, but I expect that to change this week as it has already cooled off considerably beginning just last night!

As I mentioned in 'real time' Friday's lunch was at Hawg Wild on the southern entrance to Pisgah.

Looking Glass Falls was hiding in the shade surrounded by sun soaked trees so I didn't take but one quick snap.. :dunno

There was pretty good color going up 276 to the BRP. :thumb

Here's some of my feeble attempts to catch it on the fly.

I did stop once for pics along that climb. :D

She didn't so much as whimper the whole 600 or so miles....I think she was happy to be out of the shed. :lol3

One more from that stop then it's time to get rolling again, on pretty clean low traffic run I might add! :clap

Seems to me that this part of the world has more and brighter colors in the underbrush, so to speak, than in the treetops as viewed from an overlook. The run up 276 may have been the prettiest colors of the weekend?

I just rode up through that forest and the colors looked much brighter down inside of it.....

My official leaf peepin' report is that if you didn't get out this weekend you'd best try and get out there this week as it's gonna be cold through the weekend into next week and they will change and fall fast!
