'The Pig' Lives!!
It was last ridden to the Spring Old's Cool campout in...May? ...tried to start it once mid summer and it only fired up on two cylinders. So it's just been sitting every since.
Today I decided to try firing it up again and sure enough...only hitting on two of four. Well one way to find out if it's fuel or electrical is to hold the gas open for a little while and wait for the ball of fire to be shot out the 4 into 1 header! :eek1
That didn't happen....instead she began to scream like the raped ape that she is!

Green is still the predominant fall color down here South of the border....but there's a hint of yellow and red here and there.
I had forgotten that it was the 231st anniversary of the Battle of Kings Mtn until I came across this encampment.
I know that I've posted about it's history before.....
.....but this was probably the largest encampment of rein actors that I've ever seen here.
Of course plenty of us 'regulars' get mingled in with the crowd.
Yes, she was actually spinning yarn from a pile of wool!
Yes, these ladies were cooking their dinner!
Anybody need a Dr.?
Yes, they really did camp out there in those canvas tents....and are there again tonight and tomorrow.
It looked like one heck of a refugee camp!
Plenty of period weaponry was on display as well.
and lots of funny hats.
As I said, it was a pretty big encampment!
I've gotten so used to taking all my pics upside-down and then doing a batch rotation that I took video upside-down too and can't figure out how to fix it!

OK...back to the moto-content.
It was a great afternoon to get out for a spin!
My wife and I made it out to Competition Accessories 50th anniversary celebration this morning too but we didn't get any pics...just free hot dogs, cake, soda, stickers, hat, t-shirts, key chains, coozies...and I even bought some fork oil and a new face shield for my helmet. Good to bump into Jeff there too! I can't believe you recognized me in my halloween get up.
After seeing Cuttle's pics of pretty fall colors up in the hills yesterday I figured that maybe I'd better head for the hills today.
There was just a splash of color in the foothills......I'm hoping for more up higher.....
The color increased with elevation but so did the cloud cover.
I did my best to stick to back roads and avoid 'leaf peepin' traffic.
I met three dualsports near Jonas Ridge...anybody here?
They'd probably just suffered through some crappy riding like this.
My first views of Grandfather Mtn were overcast.....but the sun did pop out as I passed by the other side later on....
...back and forth and back and forth.
Then I spied this red hillside! Not the best pics but it was cool.
Did I mention that it was a bit breezy?
Silly Pyr....you can't beat me!
In the pyrs mind you ran away... so he/she did good

What do I see here?!?...some blue sky?!
What the heck....might as well jump in the Parkway parade for a little while.
It wasn't too bad....and Granfather Mtn is looking a little brighter.
approaching the via-duct bridge...
OK....I'm done with this traffic!
Yep I wasn't hanging around!
Thanks....there's a few more yet to go.....
Traffic was a little better below the via-duct on twotwentyone.
The colors weren't too bad either.
Looking back up at the BRP via-duct bridge...sorry about the exposure...kinda looking right into the sun.
I decided to head down the mountain on dirt.....looking back up at Grandfather Mtn and the BRP.
Oooops...looks like I'm getting some failed uploads on smuggy
So I'll have to finish this up later........
OK...time to roll
The roads got narrower and the temps got warmer but the trees got greener and the sun set and I went home.
Great pics as always.
