...an old roadside spring...
...took a little walk around 'graffiti rock'
...some more views from the rock...
talked to a guy the other night that was telling me the guy that made the roll maps (sam?) was working on a better route tru tn
A little roadside pool....but maybe not quite warm enough for swimmers today.
It felt good to be out on some twisty pavement....but you never know what may be lurking around the bend. :huh
Turns out he was tied up and could only reach the edge of the street.
And for my next trick....
Yep...that's snow in the shade there...
Can you spot the landing?
I wonder if he'll even be able to use much of TN now?....they went on a mission to pave every road in that state since he plotted the original TAT.
love the pics... do you still have a bike, or is it down the cliff?
Looking towards home....needed to be heading that direction soon before the cold set back in....
Stopped in the middle of my lane this is on my Left.
....and this is looking down from the saddle of my bike immediately to my Right from the same spot.
Can you believe it?....only one shack shot for the day!
I'm a ride junkie and I was jonsin' for a fix.
that'd be one way to get a new one quicker
or ride the old DR more often...
Is that Sassafras mountain? I need a new bike.
I don't know how many more rides are in that old thing...actually I'm thinking about getting another land barge an old Gold Wing or something.
Not Sassafras...Skyuka Mtn just above the junction of US74 & I-26..and yes, everybody needs a new bike!
what's the mileage by now on your DR?
gold wing? you need suspenders, regrow your beard, and a teddy-bear harness....
An old 'wing would make a good 'tow vehicle' for taking a smaller dual sport out West. My old XS can pull a trailer but....
Not sure the exact mileage on the DR but it's in the mid 40s....and 3rd gear has been broken for almost 1/2 of that! :huh
...still runs pretty strong tho....
p.s. The old XS has actually hauled the old DR down to Georgia and back!
The only real reason to do such a thing was just to see if I could.
I think you should get yourself an Ural Hack with a "flatbed" and put the DR on it....
and who needs a 3rd gear anyway?
If I had a hack it would have to be used for the dogs...and a Ural can only pull itself @ about 50mph...how slow would it be with a trailer? :huh
Oh, 3rd gear?....yeah, you're right, who needs it?!
Don't forget...that bike has a home-made ignition too.
I was more thinking something along this lines (and have an easy conversion for the pooches):
That looks like something I'd rig up, doesn't it!!
...think I like the trailer idea better tho.
just think about your poor pooches... can't have 'em in a trailer breathing exhaust.
